TireRack shipped wrong wheels for winter setup!

Hi all, this is my first thread sharing my winter setup experience, here we go.

So after a lot of research, I ended up going with this setup for my 2017 2SS:
18 inch rims (18X8 MSW TYPE 19 BLK PAINT). All 4 wheels the same, (245), so non-staggered.
I paired these new rims with (245/50R-18 PIRELLI WINTER SOTTOZERO 3 RUN FLAT RUN FLAT).

I purchased OEM TMPS sensors on eBay, from a 2017 SS Camaro, so hopefully they work. I also had to buy the valve and nuts for the sensors from Chevy dealer for 15 bucks per wheel.

At this point Wheels and Tires have been ordered from Tire Rack. However, right before leaving to the shop so they can do the installation I find out they shipped me the wrong rims. They shipped me 19 inch, did not match the 18 inch tires they shipped to me and to make things worse, they were different color!

This sucks, just sent Tire Rack an email, lets see what they say.

They're still just people over there. I'm sure they'll fix you up.

Mistakes happen, have you even given them a chance to rectify before posting here?

Ah, okay, I understand.

[Guess I must be some old fashioned dude then, because when someone, say a vendor messes up, which could happen for many reasons, the first thing I do is talk to them directly and actually wait for their response before going public with any of the details. Not a major deal, but in general it gives people a chance to fix honest mistakes and suffer no reputation loss, which can be problematic these days, with everything captured and retained on the internet potentially forever. Just my personal take, I know many disagree and argue their case for full transparency. Don't mean to hijack the thread any further, so I'll pipe down from here and curiously wait for the vendor's response.]

Arpad m makes a very good point. I have been purchasing tires and wheels from the Tire Rack for more than ten years and have had excellent service every time.

Have to agree. Using the internet card should be a last ditched effort. Good companies reputations can be hurt over an honest mistake by running right to the internet to complain.

everybody quick to jump to their defense, which i understand, but this is their section.

When mistakes are public, maybe they will sit down with their shipping employees and ask them to pay more attention, IDK.

Good luck, i know they will correct the situation. But it is frustrating.

Unlike nearly every tire store on the planet, they actually help you file a claim on tire treadwear warranties. The wife’s car ate a set of Kumhos in 1/4 the rated miles and we used the claim money to upgrade to a set of Bridgestone turanza serenitites (we had full receipts for alignment and rotation). They made it quite easy: download the form, fill out and scan and upload with the receipts.

Nothing wrong this is exactly what should be done/ the forum members arent able to fix your problem and we understand the frustration when things go wrong and as a vendor we try not to make those mistakes but we are always able to fix the problems with a smile when finally given the chance/ so please dont change your ways.

So search results led me back to this. I have located a winter set up and as you might have guessed, it is very similar to what the OP posted. Can anyone tell me if there is any issues with this rim on a 2SS? 18X8 MSW TYPE 19, 29mm offset. Tires will be 235/60/18 Blizzak. Thanks
