I’m sitting in a dealership and I was initially quoted $250 for a rear diff service. The Service Adviser then comes up to me and says that it’s a 4 hour procedure that would be $680 but, he could knock off $40. No thanks! WTF!? I told him that I didn’t want the elsd serviced just the diff. No joy.

lol, just do it yourself. I was quoted north of $300 for mine, I did it in my driveway, took 15 minutes & cost me $20. And doesnt elsd stand for electronic limited slip diff? That is what you're trying to service.

I think the dealer is quoting you the price to change the fluid in the ESLD. From what I understand that’s a pretty involved procedure. You just want the rear axle fluid changed. That should run you about $150 from the dealer.

There’s a separate reservoir for the elsd that doesn’t require nearly the replacement intervals that the diff does.

The dealer entered the wrong code if he said it’s 4 hours. It’s faster than an oil change,
As there is no filter to worry about. It’s simply remove drain and fill plug, let drain for 10ish mins, replace drain plug. Fill with 1.6qt, replace fill plug......done.

He must have included other additional diff related services.

I know but, I can’t convince them that I know more than they do.

go to a new dealer...the eLSD only requires a typical drain & refill
