Alignment, brake fluid leak, and ruined wheel paint

I took my car to a local shop this morning for a wheel alignment. I had noticed yesterday that paint inside the front driver's side wheel was peeling and I was going to take it to the dealer this week. During the alignment, the tech asked me to come out and look at the wheel because he noticed it also, and he discovered why it was peeling. It's leaking brake fluid and that is what has ruined the paint. These are the dealer installed 6 piston brakes and dealer installed gloss black wheels, so it seems like a shoddy install.

Anything else stand out to any of you from my pics?

Honestly it looks to me like the tire and rim were curbed. Like the car went through a car wash with tire and rim hitting the guide track or when pulled onto a lift. The leaking brake fluid is getting under the scraped rim paint and peeling the paint. The dealer may have caused a leaky brake but they are probably gonna tell you the rim was damaged.

Got the car back from the dealer, said the brake line was installed incorrectly. It was repaired and the rim was replaced - damage was from the brake fluid. I'm back to being a happy camper.

Dumbest comment on the internet today, more so since the OP got the right answer from the dealer. I could see the brake fluid leakage on the caliper that the brake line was the culprit.

It would be impossible for the wheel to hit a drive thru car wash rail, more so since the wheels have a lip edge on them where the wheel weights are hammered on.

I'm glad the dealer covered the cost. He asked for opinion and I gave him mine. It looks (key word being looks) to me like the rim was scratched from something and leaking brake fluid wouldn't cause scratches, just peeling paint.

You could have replied something to the effect like: I disagree, I think blah blah blah. But instead you had to come back with a comment about my reply being the dumbest comment on the internet for the day when it's clearly isn't. I thought wheel weights are installed on the inside rim.

In fact if you go back and look at other pics, you can see weights installed on the inside and not the edge. So you actually had the dumbest comment on the internet yesterday, mine was just the 2nd dumbest. I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong, I still stand by my assessment that the rim was scraped first and the fluid caused additional paint removal. Again glad it was covered by the dealer cause that's what really matters.

I don't see a wheel "lip edge" where the wheel weights can be hammered on. Do you?
