ZL1 Air Ride

I've look thru this forum to see if anyone has put the 2017/18 ZL1 on Air Suspension. I have a 2018 which I still feel like needs to be lowered a bit. I've seen them lowered on springs and coilovers but no Air Ride yet. Anyone have any information on them. Whether or not you can do Air Ride and still have the magnetic ride working. Which company is reliable? Anything helps.

I have seen like 1 or 2 on IG that have had custom airbags installed. I am sure this would be a custom setup as no one would have a kit for this yet. What I would be worried about is the airbag size since it's going to be a very tight fit for a bag to clear the wheels.

Thanks for the reply. Trying to get this done right.

Just had the ZL1 lowered yesterday with BMR springs. I was told that it was going to get it down 1.5" all around...and after the picking it up, didn't see much change. At most 0.5". Tried to keep the MR but looks like I'm going to have to go coilovers. No kit for air ride as I was informed. Not too happy with the drop so far.

So I bit the bullet today and bought BC coilovers from Phasetek. Thanks Ricardo for all the help. I did have to order a Mag Ride delete from KW. This delete works on all coilovers, no matter the brand. I'll have the pics up next week!!

I’m very curious to see how this plays out. I would like to go air but I’m not at a point where I could consider deleting MR.

Pics

The first picture are the mag ride deletes. They are just plug in's. So you don't necessarily lose the mag ride permanently. You can always put them back to stock later on.

Here are pictures of the ZL1 after it was lowered with springs. This is 2018 and it definitely was lower than the 2017 ZL1 from the showroom. Even with the springs, the car did not drop that much. We'll see today how the ride is with the coilovers and how the car looks

I’ll be watching this closely. I’d like to drop my car lower but my real motivation is to be able to raise it up when driving on my gravel road. It’s very bumpy and I don’t want to scrape. Thanks for the pics and info.

Anyone in here know if there is a way to soften up the ride on the 2018 1LE? It would be nice to be able to adjust them to be more friendly on the street and then adjust them when on the track.

Not too sure. I'm sure someone will get to this and give you some feedback. I'll look around

KW makes a coilover that allows you to raise the car up instantly in those situations. The car will raise 2". Look it up on their website. Its the KW Hydraulic Lift System. It's kind of a mixture of coilovers and air ride. The problem that i found out with air ride is on the track a few guys here experienced issues with their bags. Some of the bags popped.

Not really looking to raise or lower and that cost is up there. Just want to soften it up on choice.

Well, it's here, but UPS delivered really late. Can't do it today. Gonna have to do the install tomorrow morning.
