What do I need to jack up car and change oil.

So my current jack that I have doesnt fit under my 1LE. What jack are you using to take the wheels off.
Also looking at race ramps to do simple oil changes or possibly build a set of ramps out of wood. Any input would be great.

Found a thread where people used 2x10s to make a wood ramp but that only gets you 6 inches. Not sure that would do it. The race ramps go 8 inches and are in 2 pieces so u get side entry once its in place. But they come with a 200 plus dollar price tag.

Okay thanks. Are the jack pads a must or just a luxury. I have not looked in the manual yet.

Thinking I will get the Napa XL low profile jack.

I have ramps similar to these. Used them about two weeks ago to do my first oil change. Car cleared them just fine on the way up.

Did you guys get the zl1 add ons that you bolt to the pinch well and leave on the car for 80. Or the single you dont leave on for 40. The set of 4 seems like the better deal. Not sure they would really stay on the car and not fall off due to vibration. Lol. Maybe loctite would help.

I have the ZL1 Addons bolt-on pads specific for the vert. 3/4 were still tight when I re-tightened the set screws after 500 miles.

I use $20 Sears jack stands that I bought on sale, and a 30 year old trolley jack. When it dies I'll get a LP HF jack.

I have another question to everyone, one the car is on the jack where do you place the jack stands if the jack is in the way?

Buy a 2" H x 3" dia puck of HDPE, cut a 1/4" wide by 1" deep slot with a saw. Or just buy one of these from Amazon.

There are two forward jack points on the with enough room for a jack and a stand side by side. Put your jack in the rearward slot, then you can put the stands in front and rear at the same time on one side.

You'll see when you try it. There must be dozens of threads on these forums, many with pictures.

It’s done out of POM sort of HDPE. It’s a puck about 3” high and 2,75 “ in diameter with a slot and a magnet to hold it in place. I machined a groove in it to fit into the jack.
