E85 -- What is necessary for adding this?

I know you need a "kit" which includes a sensor and fuel line, disconnect tool, and some connectors. 200-400$ I've seen them. Not partial to any brand.

I know you need a tune to activate your new sensor.
The tune should also have some info to get good use of the new e85 fuel you will use, not just activating the sensor itself, but actual changes.

Do you need an o2 wideband sensor?

I know you don't need new injectors, fuel pump LP or HP or any booster if you have a few boltons on a NA car from research including this forum, some blogs and YouTube.

The forum research included Pray Performance, I don't believe you have anything other than stock fuel system with your boltons and e85 and you aren't short on fuel.

Cunningham motorsports did the "first" e85 I think with a CAI and headers or maybe just e85 and a tune. Was like 25ish HP (memory working?).

Bottom line, What do I need for e85 with some boltons on a 6th Gen 1SS?

1. Kit
2. Tune
3. O2 sensor?
4. Fuel system changes?

all you need is a tune.. you honestly don't even need the flex fuel kits out there. UNLESS you want to switch from E85 to 93 octane (example). So with that being said if you go straight E85 and only E85 all you need is a reputable tuner to take the car to and have them tune you for E85.. just don't plan on ever using anything else... this info comes directly from my tuner..

I went with DSX Flex fuel kit. just because well at the time I didn't know I can just tune it without it but also because it is an upgraded line and id like to go the "right" way in a sense where I know I have the sensor for it. no 02 sensors needed to change or add nor any fuel system changes..

My mods are kooks headers, mbrp race catback, CAI, DSX flex fuel kit and a tune.

Weather that is the case or not, can't work for me. and thanks for the info. I have e85 around me, but I have jobs further away that may not sell it.

So I'll need to go between both.

The problem with this method is Ethanol content changes all the time and it's never the same. So it's wise to have the sensor so the ECM can adjust accordingly for differences in Ethanol %.

There’s clearly more power running e85 but is there less chance of knock/pulled timing as well compared to a 93 tune?

Yes of course...E85 is the equivalent of something around 107 octane race gas. This allows the LT1 to run a bunch more timing without knock. The power increase is from the increased timing not E85 itself. E85 is a wash for fuel cost savings which is why it never took off far as production in standard production vehicles but it makes for awesome high octane fuel on the cheap for the performance crowd.

We offer flex fuel kits, HPtuners VCM suite, Wide band gauges and custom tuning to bring it all together.

Yes you should have a wide band to extract the most from your combination and dial everything in perfectly.

The problem with tuning for E-85 alone is it varies from pump to pump, you can get anywhere from E-60-E85 which will screw the tune.

A Flex fuel sensor is always the best option.

Ted.

Does the flex sensor read the % of e?

What is the wb02 for?

Think I'm using the wrong terms here,

A lack of understanding is evident.

I know their are o2 sensors in exhaust systems which tell the ecu when things are lean of rich (I think).

Maybe a wideband sensor just measure air fuel mix?

No wide band needed, Tuned properly with HP Tuners the sensor does all the work. I've been running mine 2 years and Log it everything looks fine.

Answers in order
Yes
To log AFR at WOT, the factory O2 do not have the ability to report AFR away from Stoich.
Factory O2 are narrow band and report any error from Stoich.
