I use my limit display. Alot. Always thought it was gimmicky until I added it to my Titan. My Titan (and my Wifes Grand Cherokee) also have an overspeed warning you can set at a % or MPH over. It gripes at you to remind you that you are speeding. Not sure if I would like it in the Camaro but I use it alot in the others, especially on roads where the speed limit jumps around.
The updated version of Apple Maps and Carplay coming with the next version of iOS due to be released next month is supposed to display speed limits. I read that on a website that had all the new features that was supposed to be coming.

Agree - Constantly seeing vehicle speed together with area speed limit on the head up display is extremely helpful in avoiding unintended speeding. I think it's well worth the price of nav if you're getting HUD.

It's a nice feature but not always accurate. I've seen it wrong both on my old Garmin used in the previous car and the GM Nav in the Camaro. I always watch for the signs to confirm what is correct.

Signs, aren't always available or they are few and far between. It's helpful on extended trips, especially on the Interstate system, to know the SL at all times. In some states, the LEOs aren't exactly lenient and traffic violations not only cost you for that specific violation but will add to your insurance rates for years to come.

For me, I am rarely on a freeway, and when I am, the speed limits are ridiculous at 55 or 60 where we are here in the Pacific NW. It's hard for me to maintain and not be 10+ over on open stretches without the HUD with actuals and speed limit in my face without cruise control on. This car just wants to run. This is my first car with the HUD and was one of the requirements I made when deciding on options I wanted. I find it very useful.

Apple's IOS 11 will update Car Play and the Maps app will show speed limits (and some other new features like 'lane guidance').

Just checking back on this thread to see how people like the speed limit feature of IOS 11. And if getting NAV from the factory is not needed anymore.

My 10 year old Garmin with lifetime free updates displays speed limit on most secondary roads. I believe Waze does too, at least when you exceed it.

I don't understand the value of GM built-in nav.

I've been out of state and pulled onto roads where the speed is not posted. It has come in really handy in these situations.

I really don't know why anyone would pay for Nav. Your car will have access to maps through your phone. The only thing Nav does for you is put the map on dash and speed limit on heads up. I have used maps often and have never had a problem using it with Apple Play.

I like this feature and using Navigation voice commands.

I've always been on that page and use google maps daily, because their traffic routes me around Jax traffic on the way to work and saves the day quite often. With that being said, I rely on them so much that I don't have paper maps any longer and when in TN this summer ended up stopping for dinner and didn't even think about the fact that I had been driving for about 4 hrs on back roads (freeway was closed due to a bad accident and google routed me off and across the state). Needless to say, AT&T had no service in that area and I could not get my maps back up on the phone to continue my route and because I was traveling long distance, I didn't have a local copy of the route downloaded with the re-routing.... I dislike the GM interface, but having the built in maps really helped us out of the pinch since we were in the boondocks. I would pay for the 8" screen and Bose again in an instant and probably the GPS for the piece of mind when I travel. I do like having the speed limit up when traveling since Google Maps doesn't show you the speed and I don't care for Waze as much.
