Call it fan bias, or whatever....

But in my honest opinion the Camaro has got the Mustang covered in looks everywhere except maybe the rear end. The GT350R is another story...that car looks amazing, and again being completely fair, I'd likely place it just a hair above the 1LE and ZL1, but the regular GT is below them all.

But even then, I don't think the rear is ugly...its just not quite up to part with the rest.

But hey, the Mustang has to get a win somewhere right? lol.

BUT....everyone has an opinion, this guy gets to write his down.

I do agree the Camaro unequivocally outperforms its peers, and is so well-dialed in. Such a pleasure to drive!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Don't think anyone can deny as total package out of the three pony cars, Camaro has the best overall package.

Camaro looks wise IMO looks to similar to the 5th gen, which to my eyes got dated very quickly.

I really don’t understand the mustang thing. It seems the consensus outside of this forum is that the mustang is the better looking car. I just don’t see it. The mustang doesn’t stand out to me at all.

I have 0 brand loyalty and cross shopped the 4 series, c class , Challenger , mustang and camaro before I bought the camaro. I also don’t care to much about performance so looks was really my number one decision.

I think the camaro is a much nicer looking car. I would have taken the challenger over the mustang if I had to choose. Maybe I just don’t get mustangs...

I actually think the new mustangs are kind of cool looking but I still hate the front end. It’s too rounded, it doesn’t look like a mustang. I’ve always been a lover of both so I can’t hate on either but I like my camaro a lot more visually so whatever. I’d buy a challenger before a 2018 mustang.

Not true. Those guys lit me up over there about camaro reliability, visibility, etc. Lol

In my opinion, the Mustang does look very nice in person, but more gentlemanly and classy. The Camaro on the other hand has an in your face presence and is more visually striking like a concept car. It also looks more aggressive. When you see a Camaro, especially in 1LE trim, you know it means business. 100 mph standing still.

I can't believe the one point everybody noticed was the mustang appearance thing, rather than "All (Camaro) versions PROFOUNDLY FUN!"

Mustang looks like a mustang - hate it or tolerate it.

GM took the mustang in the 60's, and put their magical styling touch to it.

Camaro and Firebird have always been better looking IMHO.

In my opinion the Stang looks good with a nice wheel tire combo, lowered and in particular from a rear quarter view. The Camaro isn't a visually sexy car, its purposeful however and looks very aggressive. That being said I have owned both platforms, you can't go wrong either way. Just a preference

Everyone has different tastes. I am not a loyalist and can find something I like or dislike about all performance cars.

I think the Mustang looks really nice. Camaro is good looking too. Different styling, people like what they like.

I'm a little perplexed about why the 50-70 times for the Camaro are so slow across the board. I get that the manual trans cars in high gear will be much slower than an auto trans car that can shift down, but even the Mustang and Challengers noted that were identified as manual trans had much faster 50-70 times. What gives with that?

I like the looks of the new Mustangs, but to call them more visually stunning than the Camaro is a stretch. I think the Camaros have a much more aggressive and sinister shape and overall look than the Mustangs, but attraction is an individual preference and these reviewers should understand that. Many of the car reviewers call the new Lexus LC500 all kinds of ugly names, but I happen to think they are gorgeous, especially in person!!

Until I read through this C&D review, I had completely forgotten that there's a huge error in their degrees of rear visibility measurement. They've completely left out the view through the 1/4 windows and rear window. I couldn't figure out how they could possibly only get 77deg for the Camaro but 128 for the Challenger and 131 for the Mustang. Then I went and looked at the Mustang and Challenger reviews and those measurements includes the view out the 1/4 window and rear window. I also have to question the Challenger measurement, because the passenger side seat head rest completely obscures the view out the passenger side 1/4 window if the seat is in any kind of normal position.

I also found it interesting to note that the Camaro has slightly better front visibility in terms of degrees of view than the Mustang and is better than the Challenger for view over the hood. It all reaffirms my opinion that the criticism of the view out of the Camaro is very overblown. Yeah, the view over the trunk is pretty limited, but unless there's someone in a Lotus Super 7 tailgating you, you're still going to see that there's a car back there.

Where are they getting the $3665 1LE option price on the 2SS? GearheadSS posted that the price was $7000 regardless of 1SS or 2SS.

But Car and Driver is saying this:

"we’d take the V-6 or V-8 coupe and add the 1LE performance package. It costs $5995 on the V-6 (2LT trim required); on the V-8s it runs $6500 with the 1SS trim or $3665 with the 2SS, those prices including the mandatory Magnetic Ride Control adaptive suspension that comes only with the V-8s."
