SS GM Longtube Headers

Ok, so Sledgehammer70 shows a set of GM Performance Longtube headers in his latest video from SEMA. However, there is nothing said about these headers in the video.

Does anyone have more information?

Will these void warranty? Does GM have tune for them? Are they truely coming to market or can we expect a wait like the GM Cold Air?

Thanks everyone!

They're made my American Racing. One of the vendors posted it yesterday:

Of course there's no tune to go with them, so they'll end up being outside warranty coverage. Given AR already sells them, this is more of a PR stunt to say GM likes these headers more than anything else.

Thank you sir. I did not see that post.

Pretty lame that GM supports a manufacturer and does not support even a boxed tune for their headers.

Im also interested in this.

Factory supported mods that wont void your warranty delight me. Provided they're supported of course...which by the looks of the above posts, leads me to believe they're probably not. :/

Plus 1 on that!

Rear wheel Only? What do they have for the front for the larger calibers?

LOL, I saw that vid today, too and was gonna make a post about it. Figured GM wouldn't provide tuning for it, and that would essentially rid your warranty anyway.

What about that strut tower brace? Looks good, but wonder if it really helps on our cars

I am REALLY interested in these headers if they don't break warranty. I have a feeling that they will though. I am going to wait for more info.

Sledge said it's just the same strut tower brace they already sell, just black. Looks way better black. I need to paint mine

I would LOVE if they came out with LT headers that included a warranty tune, but I doubt that would ever happen honestly. Even if they did come out with one it would probably be the same case as the GMPP Cam and Heads. Doesn't come with a GM tune to not void warranty.

Wow! I already have the Chevy LTs!

Now will Chevy please build a long system NPP catback to go with the LTs?

Technically no headers break warranty. It's the tune that does. With these you will have to get a tune as well. It's just a way for GM to brand some extra parts.

I think that is true for shorties, but with LTs you are definitely messing with emissions and breaking the law besides the warranty. And supposedly only if the thing you changed could be part of a warranty problem you can be denied. Of course not all dealers are jerks, but some are, and deny you anyway. So if you mess with the motor just consider you own it now and are responsible for its well being.
