Around 450 rwhp depending on Dyno in this thread. I’ve heard guys claim as low as 400 high as 500. Such an accurate tool them dynos are lol

Plus sc cars suffer heat soak etc

It’s all over the place

Those gt500 is hooked to over decade old drivetrain as well

a 2007-2009 will not put down anywhere near 509whp.

a great majority of videos on youtube point to 430-445whp. Technology has come a long way in the last decade.

You're right, I was looking at 2010. 430's to 460's seem to be the range for non-Mustang dynos.

Just look at all the guys still using 15, 17, or 20% for driveline loss calculations. It's total uneducated crap. Take 10 or 12% numbers to these dynos from FCA, GM, and Ford and you get the variances you would expect. It's not a conspiracy as some make out, it's bad math.

VS
A controlled environment directly measured at the engine.

I’ve seen my own cars on the very next pull change by 8 rwhp for no reason. A rear wheel dyno is just a tuning tool. Most shops will do money pulls as well. Let the car sit for an hour. Fire it up cold and produce a pass about 10 rwhp higher. Was that done with every car compared ? There’s too many variables

Hennessy had the new SS at 43x rwhp as soon as it came out as well. Seen Scat pack autos in the 43x range.

Manufacturers are making everything more efficient. A huge chunk of this is an efficient drivetrain. Which = less hp losses with every new model. Not under rating of the engine.

Even compared side by side with a 15 model I’m sure it could show possibly more than 25 hp gain. But there’s 100 reasons why other than the engine being under rated
This exactly. When the dust settles, I expect the new GT to dyno slightly above the Camaro...enough to give it a comparable HP to weight ratio.

I'll reserve my opinion until I see a lot more dynos.

Because chassis dynos are nothing more than a tuning tool. Only way to legitimately compare engines exactly is on a motor dyno, which just isn’t possible. People put way to much interest in chassis dyno numbers.

The R/T is cheaper than a base GT?

I too expected the new Mustang to dyno a little more hp, but less tq then the Camaro. Which is exactly what happened so far...

Rumor has it the LMR gt went 11.69@118.99

Its faster than the SS period. If its true and on stock tires. Could be pulling my chain

Maybe GM will do more than just bring it even with a 10 speed next year. But I doubt it.

Yea maybe with DRs, FBO, they cut some weight, took out the sway bar, started the clock at -0.20, ran it on a downhill track with a strong tail wind, and had Jesus behind the wheel...

Considering there are no bolt-on's for the 2018's yet..

I'd say we can eliminate the FBO part.

I haven't seen that rumor yet, so I'll stick with their GT ran 12.0
