Right! All dynos are different. It isn't the car HP that's changing, its the conditions and the dyno.

Every time I see the words "underrated" and implications that it's "REALLY a XYZ HP engine"...I feel like the SAE engineers cry.

It's rated at 460 HP..that means it can be between 450ish and 470ish HP (2% which of 460 HP is 9.20 HP).

There are Hellcats dynoing 680 to the wheels and that car is rated at 707. There are ZL1s dynoing 580ish and they're rated at 650. SS Camaros were pushing 410-415 and they're rated at 455. The GT is now rated at 460 and it dynoed 435ish. The Shelby is rated at 526 and has dynoed 460s. Maybe these manufacturers are grossly underrating their cars to the point of flat out lying. The 5th Gen SS with auto trans seemed to dyno just about on the spot while the manual was higher. And the 15-17 GTs seemed to be on the money as well. I guess from here out it'll be just a free for all.

Yes I do. The Mustang sold because it is very cheap compared to the Camaro and Challenger. If you were capped at $30K and wanted a brand new V8 Muscle Car then which one would you end up in between the 3? That's right, the Mustang. How many stories on the forums have you heard about people who couldn't get a SS in the price they wanted so they went and bought a GT. In fact that is all you guys have been complaining about for 3 years over on M6G. That the Camaro costs too much and the dealerships wouldn't budge on the price and Ford gave you a great deal. In fact the last trolls on this page bragged about how he got his GT dirt cheap.

Preach! Interesting and extremely logical opinion supported by true events and facts.

Where's your proof of that statement? The '15 dyno actually shows the real dyno readout and it is clear that it's a dynojet. There is absolutely nothing on this new dyno. In fact it's a computer generated map full of no information.

The price of entry definitely affects purchase decisions, even within same segment.

Actually the Challenger R/T is the cheapest V8 and has been for sometime. Course driving one compared to a Mustang for a few bucks more was probably underwhelming, hence why more bought the GT.

I think you're right about the driving experience, but not sure on price when looking at avg price paid and not MSRP.

Doesnt really matter to me, Super. Just making an observation. A 2018 GT just put down about what a 2009 GT500 puts down on a dyno.

Yep price paid is going to be highly dependent on the market you are in. In another thread a guy was telling me he could fine no Challengers with real rebates but could find plenty of Camaros. Whereas the same time I could find tons of deals on Challengers and none on Camaros.

A base R/T probably is hard to come by to begin with. Most are going to be Plus' or other higher trims.

I've seen 470 all the way to 509rwhp from that gen. Seems to be on target to me. Remember driveline losses are down significantly from that time period and a lot of those GT500s had heat soak issues, especially on dynos. FI cars have a hell of a lot more variables on a dyno than NA. Hellcats almost always dyno better b/c the one thing FCA got right was cooling with their FI setup. They almost never have heat soak issues.
