Thanks Becky. Does the 4300 code change once it leaves Lansing, or could it be on the road in transit and still have the 4300 code? Does every car get a 4V03 (estimated delivery date) assigned?

It will change to 4200 - when shipped.
4300 = Interim movement

Some status events are internal edit - not visible.
Your dealer can look at the invoice for an I/T Exp date.
That can be used as a guide.

As a courtesy, here is an update as of this morning. Dealer got the zone manager involved. DBC confirmed that the car was on the truck and the truck left this last weekend. Further the vehicle would be delivered today (Wednesday). My dealer has been calling every day to verify that it really is coming (as we don't believe anything the DBC says at this point as they have already misled multiple times). DBC confirmed on Monday and Tuesday that it was in route per the dealer's daily call ins. Today, no car and DBC now says it hasn't left Michigan (still in Charlotte). Why the deceit or maybe it's simple ignorance? Either way the dealer can't even get a straight answer from GM. Seems like there is an integrity issue here and I can't place my finger on what is so difficult to just speak truth to the dealer. Anyhow, as bad I want this car (ZL1 1LE), I am not feeling good about giving GM $70,000+ of my hard earned money at this point because of the mnisleading. This experience has really made me have new respect for the dealerships out there and the b.s. that they have to put up with regarding GM. To ensure I give GM every opportunity to respond, I wrote a letter over the weekend and sent it to Mary Barra and the rest of GMs board members following their Corporate Governance communications protocol. No need to check the status on VHSZGR as we already know GM has it at 5000 which is inaccurate so I won't bother you with any more checking. I'll just keep you posted so you know what the final outcome is on this order.


Thanks for your help along the way. In this case, I'm glad you aren't the dealer handling this order for me as I wouldn't wish this exercise on any dealer, especially the good ones.

What you are experiencing is not the fault of GM. Once the car is produced, it is released to a third party entity. GM has little to no control at this point. The DBC can contact the logistics company. Otherwise you are at the mercy of said logistics company.

Good point and I appreciate the insight. I suppose fault is all in perspective and somewhat subjective. For me, I decidedly gave my business to GM not Jack Cooper. Therefore GM is the one on the hook for the conveyance of bogus information and the fulfillment of the order. I would certainly think that GM and Jack Cooper would be in lockstep with each other in terms of shipping status. Clearly they are not. As far as the customer is concerned this should be transparent and information should be accurate flowing from Jack Cooper to GM and on to the dealer. If it is not, then I think this is a GM issue to take up with Jack Cooper so that the DBC can be better equipped to serve their dealer network with accurate information. I did not realize it until this specific GM order, but I find it very interesting that GM invoices the dealer and gets paid by the dealer for the vehicle in a number cases such as mine well before the dealer ever takes possession of the asset. GM already has their money on this order so what further motivation do they have for the order fulfillment process to the dealer/customer? No wonder the dealer gets so frosted, especially when they cannot get consistent and/or accurate information for an asset they have already paid for. If GM truly washes their hands clean once it goes to the carrier, then they should give the dealer access to the transporter for updates instead of relying on the DBC for that information.

Is eight weeks a realistic delivery date, or should I patiently be prepared for a long winter?
