Keep in mind that it's not just an increase in HP..but torque as well..(400 ftlb to 420 IIRC), and we still haven't seen what the torque curves look like...

If true, that is impressive.

And like I have said, the jump from 6A to 10A should help a ton. I doubt we see that kind of jump on the M6 cars

LMR posted the graph and 4-6k torque looked much better. Regardless, I would call the previous A6 cars 12.8@112-113 cars at best in real world, non hero racing...by experienced racers. .8 and 4mph is alot to pick up. I'm not doubting the validity...just trying to wrap my head around the gains. Maybe the A10 is really good at keeping the coyote in its sweet spot and perhaps drag mode has the trans allowing the car to leave much harder than the A6...which was really soft in stock form.

Remember this isn't a regular magazine that runs the cars with recommended air pressure and a full tank. They are most likely messing with air pressure, on E, in good DA, etc...it is easier to compare the magazine tests in this respect. I think there has only been one A8 SS test though by Car and Driver, and they got a 12.3 at 115.x if I recall. It should be close...but I don't see the M6 cars hitting 12.3/12.4 like the SS Camaro tests though. Will see...

Agreed...they are basically a 12.9/13.0 car now, I would say 12.6 or so with the new engine...on average of course.

That's making an assumption that times will get even better from here by .3 or more for a "hero" run and assuming this basically isn't a hero time. Doubtful this hits 11.7 in stock form. They ran this car over and over today. Dicked around with tire pressure. Let's not pretend like they took a car to the track, ran a 12.0 and will be able to make changes to cut it down to 11.7 in stock form.

Well, it wasn't under super optimal conditions. They were rained out.

The rain has absolutely no bearing on the time they ran earlier. They didn't run just a few times.

DA was around 4-500 according to where I checked

It’s running nearly identical to an a8 ss. Considering conditions etc. And part of me thinks possibly a small edge to the mustang. Very close

An a6 gt in that DA in Michigan guy I know went 12.8@111 just this past weekend. It destroys the old car. Stock SS loaded with brembos 6 piston front went 12.1

12:00s at almost 117mph the first time tested at a track is a reason for the SS and Scatpack owners to worry. This car is the real deal.

This is something that's been overlooked. The torque advantage of the LT1 is offset by the extra RPMs and and wider power-band of the Coyote. The 10 speed just increases the advantage. I think were back to driver advantage when it comes to acceleration, but I believe the 10 speed automatic will be the biggest difference. It's a definite improvement over the less than stellar 8 speed in the Camaro. Just look to the ZL1 and how well it performs there.
