Looks like cool temps for the Mile this weekend! I'm all packed up and ready to go!
I'll post the times and video early next week. I don't think a stock ZL1 A10 has run the mile yet (that I've seen anyway) so hoping to get some baseline numbers that I expect will be in the 170's. Still a little worried about the slight tracking my car seems to do under hard acceleration, but that could just be the old roads around here. I'll let you know soon!

Looking forward to the results! If there are any Hell kitty's, try to get next to one on one of your runs for comparisons sake

I'd love that, but they only let one at a time run!

Texas Mile Results
My best time was 173.9 mph in the mile. The best time I saw for one of about 4 ZL1's at the event was ~175 mph. I think all were stock. Our cars competed very well with the Hellcats in the mile, although it's really hard to know who's completely stock (like we were) and who's had a tune or minor mods.
The track was SLICK, very slick! My 0-60 times were in the 6 second range (as was everyone else's). I was plagued most all weekend with my transmission "hanging" in 3rd and hitting the rev limiter. It would hang there for about 1/2 second then shift into 4th. Lot's of momentum lost with that problem. The other ZL1's were consistently running 171-173 mph times and I was stuck at 169. Tried shifting manually and matched the problem auto's time, but for me shifting manually was too much going on combined with the super slick runway. I met a tuner there who suggested removing the battery cable for 15 minutes and erasing any learned behavior in the transmission, I did that for my final run and the transmission shifted perfectly. That's when I turned in my best run of 173.9 mph. My friends in relatively new Z06's were running as high as 176 mph in one (2017) and 174 mph (2015). From the tuners I learned there are quite a few software updates for most of our cars (depending on build date). One tuner who is tied into GM showed me where my specific vehicle has 3 transmission software updates, and 3 engine software updates. Trick will be getting my unresponsive dealer to install the improvements (my car was built on April 3rd 2017). The ZL1's consistently running 1-2 mph better than my best had new build dates and I assume some of the software updates (one still had the dealer plate). Friday and Saturday we had up to a 25 mph semi-headwind (as I was going down the track the wind was from my 2'clock position). I was a bit worried about the stability of the car to begin with, and was especially worried given the bad head/cross wind. However the car did really well. There was some drifting due to the wind gusts, but nothing that wasn't manageable. On Sunday, there was a slight tailwind (from my 8'clock position). The car was really very stable at speed then. I'll post a video soon, but it's a bit sad! lol! The "hangup" between the 3-4 shift and the terrible takeoff ability due to the slick track was frustrating. However, it's nice to see the speedometer ticking off the mph up to 173 or so! More to come!
