Smile Looking to rip the Intake Manifold off and clean it

Anyone know any tips or tricks on getting the stock intake manifold apart. I have just shy of 8,000 miles on the car and just picked up an oil catch can. I imagine the manifold it gonna be filthy, should I clean it and how or should i just let it be?

Look up the instructions for the MSD intake. It has detailed steps/pics for removing the stocker.

I think OP said he wanted to take it apart, not remove it. That said no you cannot take it apart. If you really want to clean it get some brake clean and get into all the ports. Follow up with some soapy water and then blow it dry with a compressor.

Not all plastics are equal.

I used brakeclean green can on my manifold to clean up some oil. It was fine. I didnt soak it in the stuff or anything.

For what it's worth...

Good call on the CC.
A few weeks ago, I helped a good friend install a CC on his 2017 Z06. You have to lift blower to install CC on LT4. I understand that it is an LT4 not an LT1 (plastic IM versus aluminum SC). At 10,000 miles there was a fair amount of oily residue on blower lid and body. Nothing (including intercoolers) was really varnished yet. We were able to simply wipe it down with a small amount of solvent. IMHO, would have stared to varnish semi soon.

Personally after seeing that, a CC will be my first mod ASAP. No telling what the intake valves look like. I'm going to be as proactive as possible on this one.

My $0.02.

Out of curiosity for those that don't want to or are comfortable enough to remove the IM, how effective would Seafoam be for cleaning? I've used it before on older cars, but never on a newer engine. I can't imagine it to be as good as taking the IM off and doing it though.
