The need for chassis brace?

Yeah, I'm new here and yes I did a search, but I was wondering if there is a need for chassis braces (Subframe connectors) with these cars like the f-body cars needed? I see that BMR has one that is suppose to help reduce wheel hop. Has anyone used them and what were the results, and do you feel they are needed with these cars?

I'm coming from a 800 HP low 10 second 99 Camaro to a bone stock 2017 SS, and I'm not happy with the HP.. yet.
Thanks!

Honestly, at stock power, no. There are a bunch of other things I would rather see you (or anyone) do before getting into the chassis stiffening stuff. There isn't the need for that stuff that there was with the fourth gens. There are a few fundamental issues with the Sixth Gen IRS that need to be addressed before anything else (in my opinion). What are your overall goals for the car? I'd be more than happy to make a few suggestions for some very effective parts so you aren't wasting money on parts you don't need.

Thanks,

Pete

Id like to know this info also, as I'm about to start buying everything on your site. LOL. I need to see more red under my car. I want to put about 800 to the tire.

I am ordering a Procharger today along with Stainless works headers and x pipe. That is about all I'm doing to it as far as power goes. The car is going to mainly be a street car with maybe going to the track 1-2 times a year. I have been looking at the rear cradle chassis brace as well. What I am hoping to do is both reduce wheel hop and keep the car from creating any squeaks or rattles which bracing should help eliminate. I know more about the 4th gens, and I'm trying to learn if the 6 gen cars suffer from the same issues mentioned (squeaks and rattles).

Thank you for your help.

For most street cars (800hp street cars included), there is a basic formula we have that works very very well. We like to use our lowering springs (SP041), non-adjustable upper and lower trailing arms (TCA059 and UTCA058), non-adjustable upper control arm (UTCA061), and rear cradle lockout kit (BK063). Beyond this, you can add sway bars, or chassis braces depending on your specific use. Personally, the parts I listed above will take the car extremely far without any adverse effects. If you have an MRC car, you can expect a one level increase in feel (touring will feel like sport, sport with feel like track, track will feel firmer than track).

Beyond these parts, we will work with anyone on an individual basis to help correct and issues or change the feel of the car to suit each driver. We can keep the car very close to factory or make it handle like an all-out race car.
