Electrically controlling blower bypass valve

What Would it do from a tuning standpoint if you had the ability to keep the bypass valve open even under low vacuum levels, rendering the blower ineffective? What I'm getting at is having a switch to control bypass?

Depending on the type of SC you have, there is already such a thing.

You already have one then.

What are you trying to accomplish?

I want to flip a switch inside and force that valve open even under heavy throttle, disabling the blower. Like a teen driving mode, or in my case a traction mode when it gets under 55 degrees outside.

That could be done by adding a solenoid to the pressure side hose of the bypass valve. With the vent closed it would act as normal, when triggered it would vent and the valve could be forced open by the compressed SC air. Take the hose off and take it for a spin, no boost and you'd be in business.

I never thought of this but maybe we could use the bypass valve to limit power in first and second gear to get better launches.

I just zip tied the bypass valve open and nothing went wrong, no boost...basically factory again.

Nice!

This is the solenoid most companies use for boost management.

Plumb it, wire it up (don't forget a fuse) and you're good to go!
