I have learned through many new car purchases that buying last years model new at the end of a model year can usually be a good bit less than buying the same car used. Buying new with the end of model year rebates and factory incentives or if your really lucky a red tag ... plus the dealers are eager to move last years models.

Last October purchased an RS 2LT that stickered for $36,000 for 27,000 plus tax. I just traded it this week for $24,000. Bought a 2SS that stickered for $45,300 in 2016 that had 2092 miles for $33,500 plus tax. I got to the dealer as fast as I could. Test drove it, looked it over with a fine tooth comb and drove it home. We are now entering an excellent time to find deals out there. Especially in the Midwest where I live. The dealer told me they don’t like keep them in the winter in the small town where I found it.

Those red tag specials can be awesome deals. I got mine for $18.9K back in 2015. I was at the limit in my budget at the time so I definitely lucked out in my opinion.

Heck, I was looking at Kia Soul's for not that much cheaper. Talk about yuck! (No offense to any Soul owners that we may have on here. lol!)

An amazing deal on a sweet ride and at a price less than most most pay for a Cruze!!

The deals are out there on the leftover 17's... I see a 2017 1LE V6 with 6M NPP Bose and Brembo brakes advertised for $13858 off of MSRP with Chevy loyalty. That's just $20332 plus tax and fees on a car with an MSRP of $34190.. Do the math that's more than 40% off of MSRP!!!!

I can believe it last October a dealership in Wisconsin had a 2016 Silver 2SS Convertible (car had 17 miles on it) A8, NPP, MRC, NAV, Adrenaline Red red interior MSRP of $53k they offered me the vehicle for $35k. I was not ready at the time (plus I wanted a 17 50th anniversary) otherwise I would have jumped at the deal and this was not including my $1500 in GM card points and $1000 Private offer this was just the dealership offering a heavily discounted 2016 SS Convertible they did not want to get stuck with over the winter.

The deal above was posted last October on this forum I inquired about it and I almost took a drive up while I was in Chicago for the NLDS but never made it.

There are a lot of weird color/stripe/interior color/wheel combos left out there for 2017s. When I was taking a look at remaining 2017 SS's a few weeks ago, it seems like there's a lot of really specific combinations that they will have a tough time selling. I think one was a bright red convertible with white racing stripes, red interior, and black wheels. Not sure why any dealer would take the risk of ordering such a unique model and hoping someone comes along that wants it.

No way anyone is getting that price. Would bet just about anything it's listed with any possible rebate they can think of that nobody will be eligible for.

This time of year crazy things happen. With winter coming and leftovers sitting on the lot with summer only tires on cars that already don't sell well in the winter months you can sometimes get a deal you wouldn't think possible. I would bet I could buy that LE for a price even less than they have it advertised for!

I see a large dealer in south Florida is advertising 2017 Camaros with an MSRP of $26900 for just $16198 plus tax and fees with Chevy loyalty. They are also advertising 30% off all remaining 2017 Camaros in their inventory. Looks like they have over 80 left in stock right now including a couple 2LT 50th anniversary models!
