help please.

I have a 2016 CAMARO 2SS WITH ALL OPTIONS AVAILABLE. i INSTALLED A VIETESSE THROTTLE CONTROLLER AND AHVE HAD A FEW ISsues with it but nothing that Ahmed coulndt help me thru. My questions is i recently installed a rotofab CAI with a sound delete option. I hooked the product up successsfully and the car ran for a couple days back and forth to work with no issues. The first time i really mashed the gas and ran the rpm up to 6000 after e3rd gear the engine went into reduced power mode. This happened and i disconnected the negative side of teh battery terminal and it reset everything went tio normal. I have been thru the same process three times. I called Ahmed and he suggested turning down the thrtolttle controler to level2 for 3 days then up to 3 for 3 days and so on. The last piece of information is i just bought and had delivered a whipple supercharger kit that i am going to have installed on MOnday. MY questions is do i just continue to drive the car easy till i get it to the tuner guy who is going to install the supercharger and go from there? or should i take off the throttle controller and take it back to the dealership and have them help. I just dont know what to do? ANY ADVISE WOUOLD BE MUCH APPRICIATED tHANK YOU IN ADVANCE . Sorry for the caps as im not a very good typer

Sorry I can't be of much assistance on this, hopefully someone who can will chime in soon.. I'm hoping you get it fixed soon as I've been to Destin before and noticed every green light is a drag race no matter the car or driver... haha

correct ihave had some fun against a zo6 he was smoking his tires while i drove away lol. I have never messed with a new car engine. I used to build Nascar aracing engines sbc. We had a whole wall of camshafts and ran the dyno daily. but the new LT1 engine and the codes from the computer tuning leave me clueless. I hope to find a good tuner in the area. Once i have the whipple installed i guess they can set the codes to accept the unit and it will be fun to drive again. Look to future talks.

When you unplugged the negative and left it for a while then plugged it back in, did you recalibrate the throttle controller? I'm trying to recall exactly what I did when I had this issue, but I believe I took the throttle controller off, disconnected the battery, left it for four hours (overkill but I was busy elsewhere), reconnected the battery, reconnected the throttle controller, recalibrated the throttle controller and have been good ever since. I run mine at SP5.

I *very* much doubt you'll be wanting the throttle controller on there with the Whipple anyway - once you tune you'll get the response you want. I love the Vitesse but I suspect with a Whipple you'll find it near impossible to get any traction, ever, if you keep that connected and run it at anything over SP1.

What I'm reading is, you haven't narrowed down the issue, yet you're looking to install more variables.

Put it back to stock and figure out the issue one piece at a time.

Also, if that doesn't work, it may be worth you taking the throttle controller off and making sure all connections between that and the pedal harness are clean and clear of any debris. I used compressed air and WD-40 on my connections to be sure they were good.

Before adding any more parts I'd buy HP TUNERS Software and either learn how to tune using HP TUNERS Software or go to a school. Without having a through working knowledge of these systems you'll be wasting time trying to troubleshoot and tune the car. There are way too many interacting sensors and control modules in these cars compared to tuning a NA carburated cars of the past.

I haven't been to this schools but have heard good things about them
http://thetuningschool.com/

I'm telling you by experience as you'll be paying a good tuner big bucks when you could of saved some money and gained experience yourself.

Good luck.

I agree with putting more variables into the equation when ii haven't even found the issue to begin with missile. I was just thinking ahead that the throttle controller would be eliminated by the supercharger. Can anyone explain to me how to disconnect the darn throttle controller i slide the connector open and then i cant seem to pull it apart. i'm not pulling on the wires but the connector is a pain.... Sorry to all for being so needy. hte school is no doubt what i need, however my plate is full. My family own and operate a drug and alcohol treatment facility here in Destin, florida that takes up most all my time. www.blubythesea.com is the name of our place, not trying to advertise but if anyone needs help take a look i guess. Hope all have a blessed day .

The issue is the throttle controller. Same thing happened to me when I started modding the car. Don't worry about taking it to the dealership, just have the car tuned with the whipple and take it off and sell it. I believe it has to do with the intake giving increased throttle response and that paired with the throttle controller sending too much voltage through the throttle pedal cause it to go into limp mode. Just take it off and get tuned to save yourself the headache
