To please you we can say 4 seconds vs 4.5 seconds. So if the 2018 goes 12.5ish and 15-17s go 12.9 then the 15-17 is faster on the back half of the 1/4 mile by a little over a tenth. A 15 will out-do a 2018 with 25hp less, 20tq less , worse transmissions on both the auto and manual side and less power band? That would be interesting.

2018 GT goes 7 tenths faster than 2015-2017 in the 0-60 department, but somehow slows way down from 60-110ish(figure trap will be slightly over 110) and ends up only 2-3tenths faster in the 1/4 than the outgoing 2015-2017.
You are the very definition of a troll. Either that or you just like to argue. You are here on a Camaro page trying to be pro-Mustang instead of going on a Mustang page. When I go to other forums I don't sit there and engage in arguments with them over which car is better. Because that is what a troll does. And that is what you're doing. Which literally means that there is no point to you even being here. The last guy who pulled that nonsense got kicked off the forum. And then a week later you show up. If you wanna sing praises of the Mustang and talk about how you think it'll be better than the Camaro for 2018 then there are plenty of forums out there where you can do that. But to do it on a Camaro page means you are trolling.

It doesn't matter what Ford says it will do. What matters is what it actually does. And I doubt it'll do a 4 sec 0-60.

Ford also claims that to achieve this sub 4 sec 0-60, the car must be equipped with the 10 speed auto, as well as the performance pack. So I guess we know how every magazine test car will be optioned. Ford needs to shed some weight from the mustang and give it better tires on the pp. I still don’t see the 2018 GT pp keeping up with a ss 1LE around a track. I’m not brand loyal by any means, my previous car was 2015 GT with pp, I just feel gm is building better performance cars these days, while ford is more focused on sales and appeasing the average consumer.

1LE? The current PP can't even keep up with the regular SS.

How likely is it that the Mustang did not lose any weight? I would not be surprised if it actually gained a few pounds. Making that 25 horsepower gain not very significant at all. Yes the auto tranny will be much much much better than the current one. But other than that and the better tires on the PP I'm not sure it will be enough to gain a half second over the 1/4 mile.

But you said what cars do in real life doesn't matter because people can't be trusted.

As far as the troll comment, I'm not offending anyone, and if anyone is being offended they should really look into buying a couple more layers of skin. The thread is 2018 mustang vs camaro, it's about having a conversation about the performance of the cars, if no one is allowed to comment on behalf of the mustang then it isn't a conversation, it's a one sided bashing session.

I agree, base might stay relatively the same, premiums might gain 25-50lbs if nothing was changed to offset it.

Nice try. What FORD says it will do doesn't matter. What matters is what it does in the hands of legitimate trustworthy 3rd party independent unbiased testers. When it gets in the hands of a few good prodrivers who are doing official tests, THEN we'll see what it can do. And yes, you cannot trust what people say. You know how many S197 GT owners I've came across telling me their bolt-on 4.6 3V GT is making over 400 to the wheels? Or how many bolt-on 2V GT owners who claim they can pull on a Coyote in a roll-on? Or how many Cobalt SS owners who claim to be in the mid to low 12s? I've heard it all pal. And I don't believe shit coming from anyone's mouth unless it is a pro driver in an official setting for a reputable source who would lose their reputation if they lied or exaggerated or misled people.

They are a lot more official than us taking your word about these unicorn runs that none of us who go to the track has ever seen. And they're a lot more reliable than your fast lists of S550 GTs deep in the 12s when the only ones I've seen go deep in the 12s needed headers, IM, CAI, DRs, and a tune to do it.

I'm surprised it didn't need clutch, driveshaft, halfshafts and a bunch of suspension mods too.

It only needs those if you plan on doing it more than once
