Hey thanks for the advice.

How best to determine this is the issue? I have identical symptoms. Cruising on level ground 25 - 40 miles an hour, lightly accelerate and get a shudder like it almost feels like it's in the wrong gear, I described it as 'bogging down' down to my mechanic. It can shudder so much I've let off the gas fearing something was going to come loose.

Is there something I can log on my hp scanner that would be definitive?

I have no problem doing both, but want to be reasonable sure this is the solution and won't have to end up replacing the transmission. I suppose with this info my mechanic should be able to diagnose. During the test drive, he suspected torque converter but we never pursued it further as I was going to see if GM could diagnose. That never worked out.

My A8 got the shudders at 10k miles. On highway, light load on uphill grade, 70-75 mph.

After the triple flush, I still felt the shudder intermittently at 45-50 mph. Really wasn't bad anymore but knew the best thing for the long term was to get the TC replaced.

I got the car back from the dealer one week ago with TC replaced and it feels perfect now. I had them replace the headliner at the same time as I could see the frayed edges from the windshield under bright sunlight.

I just had the same issue. The dealer had to replace the torque converter on my 2016 2SS with 16,250 miles. So far, the issue has not returned.

I still sit here and wonder if there was an actual design change in these converters or is everyone gonna end up in the same spot again. How about the vettes and ZO6's? This trans has been out since 2015 and if the converters are the same in the 6th gen and Vettes surely this issue has had to arise with regularity before our 6th gens hit the showrooms.

Initial research looks like $300 - $600... I don't think there is any way the dealer will even touch it with the supercharger on there...
call circle D and put a good converter in it.

Another victim for torque converter issues. Taking to dealer tomorrow.

Getting car back tomorrow after the dealer flush. Wonder how long this will last?

This started happening for me recently and so i took my 2016 SS into Frankin Chevrolet in statesboro and they already knew exactly what I was talking about as they have apparently replaced several TCs on multiple models. After demonstrating the shudder, they went straight to replacing torque converter.

I expect to get the car back by tomorrow. I will update with the results then.

I must say i am a bit disappointed in the car at this point. I had the infamous rear end groan as well and had to have a complete rear end replacement. I also have the "haunted My Link" issue. All of this in less than a year of ownership.

Thank God for my local dealership being troopers. Both issues appear to be related to contaminated fluid from the factory, so I hope Chevy is taking note. These werent cheap repairs for them.

Well, got my car back yesterday from the dealer after the triple flush. So far so good but I'll be watching it like a hawk.

First impression is very positive. I had erratic and hard shifting first thing in the morning from 1 to 2, then jerking intermittent shifts when driving slowly almost like I had the car in the wrong gear with a stick. I had taken the car in for the rear end groan and mention these items at the time but was told they could not replicate them. When the vibrations started they did the TSB and right now everything seems to have been resolved with the trans. We'll see how this works out in the coming months as it'll be right back to the dealer if it starts this nonsense again.

Update: After replacing the torque converter the shudder is completely gone.

Thanks for everyone's contribution to this thread. It has been very helpful.

I have a 2017 1SS camero just got a month ago new "used" 7500 miles. I noticed the same problem mention by JKLNHYD. Dealer is giving me the run around. I have contacted GM directly and I am in the process of getting answers but really I have no answers yet. I will post everything for all to see as it materializes. I put Momentum Chevrolet on notice that I will be posting all communication for public to see to keep them accountable.

So, my car is shaking and shuddering at 70 mph or shoulld I say mostly more noticable at 70 mph. The only way to stop it I have to manually put the car in manual gear up to 7th gear them put it back to 8th gear and leave it in manual to get it to stop so the car remains in V8 mode only. I have taken it to the dealership and the update the transmission software module and told me to drive it for 500 miles so the car re-learns my driving habbits (which is BS) I have driven 400+ miles no change in the symptoms.
I mentioned the torque converter issue based on the GM Bulletin #16-NA-175 here is the link:

http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...tate-1324.html

The dealership claims that this does not pertain to my car. The bulletin clearly points out corvette engine 1LT and the camero is listed in the section of passenger cars affected with this problem.
http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...tate-1324.html

This is incase anyone else is dealing with the same issue. I will update as soon as I have more information.

I have a 2017 2SS Fifty A8..

Just bought it about 3 weeks ago, used (already had about 6k on the ODO)...

Recently it has started to shudder like everybody is talking about.. at about 1200 - 1900 rpm, around 55 mph - 65 mph, giving it about 10%- - 15% throttle... I was going to wait till my first oil change.. Looks like i have about 77% oil life left... Should I go ahead and wait.. or sched for it to be taken in asap??

I am taking mine in for the 2nd time for the same reason. The 1st time the claimed that they update the transmission module software and I needed to drive it for 200 miles in order to see if happens again. Well it never stop happening going back next Tuesday for the next round of diagnostics.
