Has anybody tried TriboTex Nanoparticle Oil Additive
I am a big fan of friction reducing oil additives such as Z-Max; I recently came across Tribotex and was wondering if any one had tried it on their ZL-1? It promises to decrease friction and noise and increase power to the tune of 3%..

working in the lubricant business, I would never used any of these additives. These guys are constantly being sued for false and unproven claims. Also, it's just a guess how these additives can interact with the motor oil in use. And would likely void a warranty.

Is this the new Slick 50? You're better off just using a quality full synthetic like Mobil one. You're not going to increase fuel economy or performance adding anything to the oil.

Here are links to FTC lawsuits for some of the previous oil additive products:

I can tell you first hand that Zmax is amazing, it’s not a hoax, it needs time to penetrate into the metal. It results is lower engine frictional noise and smoother operation. Some of the others such as slick 50 etc. do have issues.
The technology behind TribiTex is impressive and I will try it and share my experience. |

Lubrication does not occur below the surface of the metal. And modern motor oils already have additives that bond with the metal surface providing startup protection. After the metal is in motion, the baseoils start doing their job providing a film. Zmax does nothing then.
