I just got my car back from the dealer for my rear differential. They replaced one failed fuel injector as well as an intake gasket due to an air leak. After all of those parts were replaced the sound is gone...for now.

Interesting, I would of thought that it would show a code or a light would have come on ?were you hearing this noise from the driver side dash ?

Yes. Only on driver side. Maybe direct injection or high pressure fuel pump. idk

I have driven 4 cars that have these things, but none of them are making this ticking noise.

Mine was passenger side, but incredibly noticeable. I use super premium gas and have babied it mechanically.

I have a noise coming from driver side dash area, it's more noticeable between 2k and 3k rpm, almost sounds like a pump, high pitched noise. Service tech heard it and has no idea what it is and took another used 2016 on their lot out and said it sounds the same. Thing is I did not have this noise when I bought the car and it came just after my first oil change. It's anyoing, a couple other members had this noise and said it seemed to of stopped after 10 k miles.

I guess I spoke too soon. 3 days after having my car back from the shop, I've had some sort of tranny failure.

I was stopped at a light, went to take off and Had no power, the tsnsmission would not shift in auto, or manual mode... I was able to limp the car about 100 yards to a drive and stopped.

I shut down the car, attempted to engage the car into drive and pull away. Only to find out drive, is now reverse.... I got out of the car to see this.....

Yes, I just checked my invoice and it was done during its last visit

I want to love this car, I just feel I was dealt a lemon, let's see if GM steps up to the plate.

Looks like they failed on the cooler line replacement. I need to get my car scheduled for that and have them take care of the rear diff at the same time. Just don't know if I have 2 days I can go without the car if they are low on loaners right now due to recent recall efforts.

They had my car for 2 weeks trying to get parts for the rear end.. it was horrid, then three days out of the shop this cooler line failed. Im just hoping no damage was done to the tranny running it without any fluid trying getting it off the road.

Is this noise confirmed to be the direct injection on these cars? I find that extremely hard to believe. The noise I'm getting fluctuates with RPM and sounds 100% like my LS1 Trans Am did when there was an exhaust leak after adding LT headers.

I've driven Stingrays before and I previously owned a C7 Z06 and never had this noise which is why I am extremely skeptical that it's the DI system. It's driving me absolutely insane

My car is doing the same as this thread. I thought it could be just DI but it is not. http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=505239

He is able to fix it. I have high hope this could also fix the tick when accelerating. Going to try in a few months when doing oil change.
