Aftermarket hoods

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone here has purchased an after market hood for their SS. I know Anderson Composites and 6LE has some nice looking hoods and I would like to hear from people who have purchased from these vendors, or if you've purchased a hood in the past, what was your experience like. I am asking because I placed an order for one 12 weeks ago and I am still waiting for it and just wanted to know if that's normal. I have emailed the vendor multiple times but every time I am told that it should ship next week but multiple emails and 12 weeks later, It still haven't shipped. Please let know what you guys think? Do you guys think I should ask for a refund or does it usually take this long for a hood to be built and delivered.

12 weeks??! You are probably the first order and they are now figuring out exactly how to make it.

I have learned to ask, "Is it in stock?", if not I move on to next vendor.

Ask for a refund explaining the 12 week wait and constant "it will ship next week" statements and move on. You were more then patient with them.

I know a few vendors, have the hood drop shipped from the manufacturer. The wait times are usually the lead time from the manufacturer, which can have delays from congestion, shows, Sema crunch etc.

Not saying that's acceptable, but generally orders are made on a first come first serve basis, which is why there could be a delay!

The number one reason I haven't asked for a refund is because I'll lose money because of the exchange rate and that would really tick me off, then I would have to spend more money on another hood. Also after reading all the reviews about them here on the forums I didn't think they would do this because I thought they were a reputable company. I think I will wait a few more days and give them a chance to redeem themselves. Ill keep you guys posted.

The gm copo hood is too high for my liking. If this doesn't work out I think I will go with the Anderson Composites ZL1 hood. I like their copo hood design but that's also very high. Too bad not many options out there for the 6th gen. yet.
