I had to giggle at the 30k mile thought, if you get 15k out of the stock summer only tires be happy.

Plenty of vehicles don't make 30k miles on tires with rotations every 5000 miles. I've been a service advisor for 18 years, see it all the time on European vehicles.

If you take a look at the warranty info for tires, you'll notice that the expected tread life is cut in half when the widths are staggered. Exactly like you have on your car. So 30K is not a possibility in your case. 15,000 is the only reasonable expectation.

I'd agree that I didn't like the stock Goodyear tires on my 2SS, but that was because of poor wet performance. You can't bash on the tire simply because you elected to modify the original setup and very likely screwed something up in the process.

WORST wet performance I've ever experienced. Goodyear offered me credit towards another set as my only option!

I am not nice to my tires at all, and I got 10k out of my first set, and now about 11k out of this set (which I bought used from someone with 3k on them)...but I'm ready for a new set. With as many trips to the drag strip and random other abuses I give these tires, I'm fine with saying they hold up pretty damn well.

The alignment definitely has some camber in it, which causes the wear you see. I was worried about it at first, but it is in spec. That's just part of the set up to why the car handles so well.

Just about everything that handles at all has factory negative camber. You should see Volvos.

Haha, burnouts with front tires.

I appreciate all other responses, lets see if the PZeros can handle more than the next 15k miles.

The outsides still look fine, not even at the wear bars yet. You really expected 30k miles when you didn't even check alignment after swapping wheels?

After 6 miles I changed wheels for MMR replicas and got 305 Pirelli PZeros for the back and reused the stock 275 rears on front.

I took my car to install lowering shocks and they noticed the inside of the tire was gone. It is obviously bad alignment, but even so, I was in the understanding tires should be good for at least 30k miles.
Lol

PZeros are typically carry a 220 tread wear rating. The Goodyear run-flats carry a 300 tread wear rating. Best case scenario for the PZeros may be 10K miles with 0 track miles (OK why mount PZeros if you are not tracking the vehicle???).

I had the Perilli PZero's on my 2013 SS and was pretty easy on them - they had about 25,000 miles and were at 5/32. My GYs are at 5/32 with 18k miles, although I am the second owner of the car, and I think the prior owner was not easy on them.

I think the GYs are more grippy than the PZeros and the GYs seem to wear faster than the PZeros. Also the PZeros get flat spots on the tires when it's 45 degrees. You feel like Fred Flintstone for the first mile.

I'll also add the GYs provide a firmer / stiffer ride, probably due to the stiffer sidewalls of the run-flats. The 6gen is so much different than the 5gen, the only real way to tell is to have them installed. There is no clear cut decision for me on replacement tires at this point.
