Has GM published the factory [street] alignment for these cars yet?

Very nice write up!! Good luck on dropping your times. The main thing is having fun while doing it.

Camber

Thanks for the write up and the progress you are making at LRP in the 1LE.

I currently track a 2015 Z-28, with some suspension mods, stock motor. Have only driven it at LRP once last season and didn't push it very hard. I am now considering a new ZL1 1LE specifically for the track.

One question: When you change (reduce) the front camber, is the rear camber left alone? I ask this because I have always thought that if you reduce front camber (more neg) you should also reduce the rear.

As for driving at LRP, you will most definitely continue to go faster. I have been racing there since 1970. I turned a 57.1 lap there about 5 years ago in my Cayman.

I am a National PCA, BMW and Ferrari instructor. I would be happy to ride with you and try to help in any way I am able.

Wow great review.

My first track day will be next Wednesday at COTA. I can't wait and your review makes me even more anxious to get on track.

Sorry to bring back my thread here but I'm just home from another track event. Did the 9/8/17 Track Night in America up at Palmer Motorsports Park. This was only my second time at Palmer but I enrolled in Advanced. I was somewhat concerned about that given my lack of familiarity with the track but the ZL1 1LE didn't disappoint! It was a MONSTER at this track. I think unlike my home track of Lime Rock, Palmer is not so particular about your line, each corner has multiple ways through, some fast and some slow. But it rewards power and grip and those are two things the ZL1 1LE has in spades. I was getting tips from a guy driving a heavily modified Mustang and, for the last session I was following him, he let me bye and I was gone. Fastest lap was a 1:50.x which is WAY better than my 1:58 from last year in my 2014 ZL1. This car is just amazing. Here is the video:

Very nice
What is the difference between sport 1, sport 2 and race ?
Why did you choose sport1?
Any issue with your PDR mic? Sound is sometime kind of disrupted...
I'm waiting to race my A10!!!!!

I know there is a description of the different modes somewhere. Honestly I see it as a sliding scale for how much the nannies intervene. This was only my second time at the track (and 3rd track day with the new car) so I left it on Sport 1 to allow for more intervention. I'm going back to Palmer next month and, as long as conditions warrant it, I'll try Sport 2 or Race.

The PDR is great but the quality of the video and the mic do leave something to be desired. My GoPro had the PDR beat years ago but the PDR is so damn convenient that I've not touched my GoPro since I picked up the new car. Both windows were down and the wind noise can get pretty bad on the mic...I don't know of a fix.

A10? Yeah, I'm sure it would be in the power lots more than I was. I pretty much ran in 3rd except on the straight. I may drop a gear here and there to squeeze even more next time out.

Great write up. I really appreciate the feedback. I recently decided Im going the ZL1 route after years of tracking a Lexus ISF. Ive done 24 track days in 3 years and am looking to step up a couple of notches. Ive never owned a GM product so am curious about reliability. Awesome to see you using your beat as was designed. I feel bad when I see these things at car shows with perfect paint. They should have battle scars lol
