And my dad thinks i'm crazy for not trusting ANY technician, mechanic, dealership with my car. I don't trust his mechanic that he's been seeing for many many years. And i don't trust bringing my car to the dealership. I don't want no one driving my car but me. They will "take it for a spin" and a fun car like this will be messed with. I'm afraid they will rub grease on my seats from their dirty mechanic clothes. I'm afraid they will scratch the car, outside or in the footwell etc...

But somethings you can't avoid. Eventually you will have to put the car in someone else's hands. Unless your mechanically able to take care of your own car. With the appropriate work space and tools to do so. And time of course. I'm too paranoid and it sucks...

Had my SS at the dealer for a rear diff leak and alignment (off from the factory). Was in there for 4 days while they waited for parts. OnStar is active so I could look up usage. 2 test drives, same route. Down the highway, 2nd off ramp, across and back on. Both times showing hard braking and hard acceleration. Couple instances where it was moved around and getting 7 mpg, etc. Makes me want to get a dash cam.

I don't have OnStar but I did not know it can tell you if your car was driven hard. Now it makes me want to get it.

I have my service tech (on video) driving mine 20 miles away to show off my car to his wife and kids at a school in the next town. Speed also shows him driving in excess of 100 mph. Have it all on video. They don't know I have a live dash cam.

I never said anything. These guys work on my Camaro even though it has the Supercharger installed (voided warranty). They don't say anything, I don't say anything. But I still keep all the videos.

I always leave my Dashcam in the car and tell the service guy that I deal with that I don't expect it to be unplugged (it's hard wired). They don't mess with it and I do look over the footage after getting the car back. I did have to go back once to show him that one of the techs was blowing through red lights on the test drive after replacing the rear carrier. He got the service manger involved immediately and assured me that they would address it and make sure that it never happened again. Since then, the dashcam has recorded the service guy riding shotgun in all test drives.

I've been big time procrastinating on the manual, but is that the same as teen driver mode? And that should be password protected correct? So they can't just turn it off?

I think all valet mode does in the 2016 is lock the radio and possibly the trunk. I SOOO wish it did more - like limit the speed, the rpms, etc.

So much opportunity wasted.....
