Rear seat delete

Anyone know a vendor for one ?

Anyone done one on there own ?

I just don't ever see the need for the back seats in my situation. My first car was a 1970 AMX. It just had two seats and carpet where the + 2 would have been. Very clean for its time.

Search, grasshopper. There are at least two threads that are very recent that discuss a homemade solution, as well as a vendor offering.

How much weight can you save from a rear seat delete? Seems almost pointless IMO, the back seats in the ZL1 look great.

Its really more of having a flat surface to carry things than weight savings ( 20 lbs) I just know I will never have anyone in them.

Never understood this rear seat delete. Use the trunk or fold the seats down, wala.

For every 100# you gain ~ a tenth in the 1/4 they say. the seat deletes can save as much as 30# with the seatbelts removed too, take out a few other things, swap in a race battery and you are now picking up speed. cool part about these kits is they are reversible. looks to be about a 10 minute swap for those that need a seat on occasion. not everyone that buys there car is satisfied with leaving them stock. (full disclosure I just ordered this kit myself and cant wait to put it in)

I made my.own and saved 35lbs with seatbelts. The kit I made weighs practically nothing with carpet. I did it for less interior cleaning, weight reduction, and you can hear the exhaust more.
