You have a greater chance of being eaten by a shark in the middle of Arizona than that happening.

Wow are some people paranoid.

You miss the part about it happening quite a bit on the C7?

We need some perspective here. 99% of people reading here are US CARS, and won't have this problem.

The perspective I am reading is the C7 lock looks to be very similar to the one used on EU 6th gens. If so, the same issue may plague it. Then again, it may be completely different or "fixed". We don't have nearly enough EU members to even know if the issue exists though. So if someone does want to get the EU parts and convert theirs they need to keep this in mind.

That's Like 10 out of 120,000 (average Corvette build is about 40k/yr)

I'm sure you can find 10 of anything wrong with any car.

Take it to the dealer and it gets fixed under warranty.

Next topic.

About the same as complain about blank MyLink screens or other various issues we always see posts about here.

Happened to me twice with a Subaru. Major pain.

That would be perfect. I wonder since its a similar capless system, would that ford one would work on our camaros.

The only thing really stopping us from adding it in our North American cars is if the wiring harness is at the cap or not.

If the wiring harness is at the cap, all you need to do is buy the solenoid and install it.

If the harness is not at the cap forget it, you'd have to buy the European harness which is no doubt not going to be compatible for NA spec cars.

Might be time for some inspection, although I don't feel like pulling my trunk liner all apart.

Anyone care to check it out on theirs?

What's to stop people from dumping super glue all over your door handles and windshield wipers and etc etc.

It's about fuel stealing. Doesn't really happen in the US currently. In the UK they steal anything not locked up as if it's public property if it isn't behind a lock. Ask anyone from there. So a locking gas door makes sense.

My car didn't come with a locking lug nut set. That is much more of a relevant concern than a gas cap

lol, getting water dumped into your tank is a lot more expensive than getting your door handles or windshield wipers super glued
