wonder how long it will make that sound until it goes boom though?as someone who wants to go 200,000 miles before doing any engine work i didnt want additional parts(turbo, intercooler)to go bad nor did i want to jack up the boost enough to overstress other parts.

450+whp for only $2K? I highly doubt it. Also, the 1SS V8 is typically around $10K more than a base V6, not $6K. I'm glad the 2.0T exists, but now you're paying more for the V6 since it's a midlevel engine option on the 6th gen.

I must have been out of my mind had a 2010 2LT/RS as a daily driver. Zero issues being able to afford a SS or ZL1 I enjoyed my V6.

Exhaust Tone
Drive both with the NPP and then decide. If it's all about $$$ buy a slightly used SS.

Those claims are no more than advertising fluff designed to coax a slightly different segment of the car enthusiast world into stopping by the dealership and maybe trying one out. As capable as at least a couple of Camaro trims are, that alone does not make them "sports cars" - either 'big-bore sport coupes" or "Grand Touring cars" would be much closer to the truth. I get that GM is never going to call their Camaro a ponycar, even though that's the U.S. domestic car category it best fits into. Methinks today's advertising people are either too young to know what a sports car really was, or they actually are old enough to know and they're flat-out taking advantage of those who don't - by any means that might work. They probably hate people like me who don't gobble up every advertising pitch like it was candy. Norm

You just proved what I was saying. There are base LTs. There is no base V8. The 1SS comes standard with items that you have to pay extra on the LT. So it is not apples to apples unless similarly equipped. But that's not the point anyway. Someone after a base LT is not going to be interested in the items the 1SS has standard. Likewise someone cross shopping a 1SS will not be looking at a base LT.

I didn't prove your point man I own an LT you do not you have an SS I factory ordered mine so I picked exactly what is on my car. I put the Bose stereo in it which one ss doesn't have the full one only the 2ss or if you pay for it on at lowwer model to me a stereo is super important in the overall enjoyment of a car. Next after much debate I added the RS package I was just going to do the 20 inch rims but I ended up adding the whole package so there is Apples to Apples on that one add-on but it was completely my choice. Next I added the NPP exhaust that doesn't come stock on anything it's an extra well worth it but an extra. And the last thing I did was I added hyper blue metallic again it's a choice. I did not add anything that the SS comes with I did not add to upgrade it breaks the upgrading Cooling and he suspension options it's all not needed. After all those upgrades my car came up to $37,000 Canadian. A base 1ss with none of the options listed above except the RS package would have cost me $45,000 Canadian. There is a huge difference between an LT and an SS you need to have you Duty brakes and cooling we do not |

To put it another way, compare a 2SS and 2LT. There are several items the 2SS has that a 2LT does not have. If someone compared their prices they would be making the same mistake. Again that's without even getting into the mechanical differences. Also the CDN market is different than the US. I haven't looked but there may be bigger prices differences between trims. I've been quoting all US market prices. Also adding your own options is useless for this topic as much as comparing a used SS vs new LT. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

There is no need to insult me man I don't know what you don't get maybe you need to look into your own intelligence instead of trying to insult me. The V6 and 4 cylinder cars have their own brakes they do not need the SS breaks the SS cannot use the V6 brakes you can totally compare them it's not like the car is coming with out brakes it has brakes you can still upgrade the brakes on an SS that would be the comparison upgraded SS brakes versus upgraded LT brakes or base brakes versus base brakes. I don't know what you're trying to prove but you're basically trying to make it look like it's not a lot of money extra to get into an SS but the bottom line it is a lot of money no matter what way you try to cut it it's a lot of money. Next time try to not be so ignorant A 1lt in Canada is $29 000 in change you can add the six cylinder for $1,600 the 1 SS is $43,000 that's not chump change buddy Last edited by IMadeYouReadThis; 09-04-2017 at 02:16 PM. |
