Service intervals
Are the maintenance at the various service intervals indicated by the manual really necessary in order to keep my camaro in good shape? maintenance at the dealer gets very pricey.

You can do the most maintenance by your self if you want to save money. Or you just go to car shop bring your own oil and oil filter let them do the work. That is much cheaper but you void probably your warranty. In the end it is important that somebody looks and maintain the car. It is not necessary that GM is doing that.

You can do it all yourself or have jim the mechanic or your next door neighbor do it. Just write it in a log or your owners manual. BTW to the OP: I just noticed you're new to the forum, and your location..... My thoughts and prayers go out to each and every one of you down there. I take it by the fact you're posting on a car forum about a year old car that things are ok in your area? |

Yeah that's not the case here in the US. If you change your oil, (or have it done), keep the receipts, you're still within warranty.its been tested in the courts several times over the years. General consensus of the courts is, if it's in the owners manual, and shows you how to do it, you can do it by yourself or somebody else.
