FYI: Komen has been controversial in recent years. 20% of budget goes to admin and fund raising. That's high and twice as much as Red Cross for example. Better place for your money is American Cancer Society. I donate and volunteer quite a bit and I do my research.

I'm aware of the ratings. Keep in mind that they are only numbers. The cost of fundraising has always been high for the ACS but their admin costs are only 5%. The ACS offers services to cancer patients that are unique. I have been a volunteer driver for some time. If you are diagnosed and cannot get to daily radiation treatments then you have a real problem!
For those who are willing and able to volunteer to drive, contact the ACS and ask about the Road to Recovery program. 800-227-2345 or cancer.org

I'm sorry OP...

rshelar, you post on the OP's thread about Komen's "20% of budget goes to admin and fund raising", and the budget for admin and fund raising of your charity of choice blows 40%?

I couldn't give a rats ass if your charity "has always been high"... because it is high, and that's a problem! Why is it OK for them and not OK for Komen?

Don't even get me started on Komen being controversial in recent years... as ACS has been controversial for years on how it abuses it's funds!
