That's the logic you are working with here.
I don't even know what this means.

It doesn't have to outrun them if it can out turn and out brake them. I've seen a trio of Cobalt SS' embarrass Corvette owners at several track days at VIR. The Corvette could stretch it's legs on the back straight but the Cobalt would be right back on their bumper through madness, the roller coaster and hog pen and then wash rinse repeat on the front straight with the SS dogging their rear view mirror all the way to oak tree.

How about the SS. Does it suck because the ZL1 exists? Does the ZL1 suck because of the Aventador SV or another supercar? Do cars suck because helicopters and jets exist?

We are taking commuters here. If you're racing then that's totally different. I absolutely love my V6. Maybe in ten years I'll want something more, although in ten years I imagine it'll have to be electric (better except for sound).

LOL. That is funny man. The bottom line even though there's some guys on here that can not accept it is that the V6 is beastly. It's faster than 90%of the cars on the road. It handles like it's on Rails. I love the car I wouldn't change a thing. The V6 Camaro is truly the new blue collar Enthusiast car

How do you not know what that means?

The argument against the V6 is completely based on this stupid idea that it has inadequate power. A notion that's outdated.

What the V8 only crowd rallies behind is power. When engines with less cylinders gets to that same power that was previously heralded as the best and V8 territory ...they just shift to what the latest V8 produces as the new benchmark of what you need to have a "real car".

The thing is, that used to make some sense a decade ago and before. It doesn't make any sense to continue that kind of thinking when 4 bangers are getting under 5 second 0-60 times.

So what happens when even the lowest trim camaro can do 4 second 0-60 and corner better than the current 1le? Still gotta buy a V8? Stupid.

There does exist a limit to where things become too fast ...as upsetting as that may be to people. We're fast approaching what drivers can handle on the road, if we're already not basically there now. Sure engines can be made to produce increasingly higher hp every engine update but it'll be power you can't use ever, either by not being able to apply it to the road or it not being legal. Hell, even today I can get a ticket for accelerating as fast as i do and I'm not even screeching the tires.

I got the impression that he thought it was you saying "it sucks because there exist trims with more power", not using that as an explanation for the lack of logic and forethought in some of the prior posts.

Actually... The Nismo 370Z = 3:12.0
That's 8 seconds slower around VIR.

Obviously an SS 1le is faster than the V6 but that's all grunt. Road & Track instrument testing on the V6 1le put it at 4.9 sec to 60, 1/4 mile in 13.6 sec, & 1.00 G on the skid pad. Not SS numbers but plenty quick & given the handling / track times how much do you need in a daily driver.

Bro you hit the nail on the head the V6 is an absolute Beast for daily driver. Even without the 1le it handles like it's on Rails

I've bought 3 consecutive Civic generations brand new. The last 2 we're Si's. I went to the dealership to buy a type R, the one that I bought 3 consecutive brand new cars from & played games. They wanted $40k for one. I refused to play the game & began researching other cars. Not looking for anything serious, just looked at performance & cost. I stumbled upon the V6 1le & the more I researched I couldn't find a reason not to look into it more. I found a dealership in Philly that had 3 of them on their lot for a while (because of the V6 stigma). They had a black one, a Krypton one, & a Summit White one. They sold me the brand new (11 Miles) Summit White 1lt 1le with tech package for $24k plus some change - I'm not kidding. Sticker was $35k plus.

Best deal I've ever gotten on a car.

Wow what a deal!

Really my V6 car reminds me a lot of my friend's '80 Monza from high school that they put a hopped up Buick V6 in. This car has a similar size (medium) and reminds me a lot of that car in certain ways. Just so much fun and a real G machine.

I find it kind of funny that guys tell me I made a mistake by choosing the engine I chose, and they don't even have a Big Block. Back in the day the big block guys would laugh at the ones who made a mistake by choosing a small block V8, right?

I looked at total cost of ownership when figuring out if I should get an SS or not. Made up a page of numbers and showed my son how I was listing the insurance, tires (need new ones after 6 months, Summer only is totally useless to me), premium gas, less mileage. I figured it would cost 16k more over the life of the car (I keep mine about 8 years lately). My car is not just a daily driver; I know some people could say that but their commute is only 10 minutes long. Mine is 90 miles per day. It's a commuter car.

The biggest reason for me though is I had a somewhat angry driving style in my previous Mazda 3. Not like a jerk but also not messing around with people who sit in the left lane not passing anybody. I just pass the on the right because they will never ever get over. I knew dang well that with an SS I would be frustrated ALL THE TIME, because I would feel cheated that I couldn't drive this car 120 MPH everywhere. :-) I am safer in the V6.
