LS1, 2 or 3

People keep asking what my engine is. It's a 2017 2ss 455 hp, 455 torque

Is it and LS3?

It's an LT1 (Gen V). The LSx engines were used in the last gen Camaro's (2010-2015).

LT1 is in the SS the supercharged LT4 is in the ZL1. The LGX direct injection is the V-6.

If they think your car has a LS1 or LS2 then they really don't know jack crap about cars. I could understand the LS3 a little more since it's in the 5th Gen but like others have said, you have a LT1.

If I had a dollar for every time people asked if my 2010 SS and my 2013 ZL1 had a 350 I could've had never ending mods.

I had a young guy with a 10-12 5th gen ask to race me at the track a few months back. I asked what his mods were thinking that he had some major work done to call me out. He said he had DR's, cat back, and CAI with an A4 transmission.

"What does it run," I asked?

"I'm hoping to crack the 12's tonight," he replied.

At that moment, I showed him my brand new 11.8@118 timeslip. He was shocked and asked what I had done. I told him (mods in sig). And then he wanted to know if I had the LS3... This car had been out for a year and a half, and a Camaro owner had no idea what engine was in it.

Better yet,

After the car being out for a year or longer, I brought my car into the dealership for a simple service recall that ended up not being anything to worry about.

Anyways, the tech thought the car still had the LS3. Had no idea it had the LT1.

Talk about confidence inspiring. Its worth the awkward response of "I prefer to do them myself" when they ask why you haven't came in for your free complimentary oil change.

Even worse, unless he swapped his trans for the A4, he didn't even know he had an A6.

Had my LT into a tire shop to plug a hole and the manager was in the shop with one of the techs looking at my car. Tech asks "What do they have in these?" Manager says "350".

I say, "It's a V6"

Manager, "Must be the big 6 right?"

Is it and LS3?
The LS1 and LS6 are Gen III
The LS2, LS3, LS4, and LS7 are Gen IV
The LT1 and LT4 are GEN V

I don't think GM has used a 350 in the Camaro or Corvette since the LT-1 in the '90's.
