PDR and multiple tracks
Hello,
When you program a Start/Finish for a track, is that the ONLY start finish the PDR knows or does it remember all the start/finishes you set? I'm heading to a new track and I wonder if when I program a new start/finish, if it will wipe my old one so I need to redo it when I go back to the other track. Hope that makes sense. Please let me know and thank you. DM |

Unless anything has changed from the Corvette PDR system, there is a single map file that is stored on the SD Card. That file is overwritten at a new track and it doesn't save that data from track to track. You could, in theory, use a new SD card for each track. If you run at Limerock, the .map file will be created with the start/finish line saved. If you go to run at New Hampshire, put in a new card and it will create a new map file for NHIS. If you return to Limerock, put your original Limerock card back in and as long as that data still resides on the card, it will have the start finish line data stored from your previous runs on previous days. If you clear the card, you'll loose the file and need to reset the start finish line on your next session.

Why not just expose the filesets on the SDCard, move the .map file off to your PC and archive it for that track. Then you just swap in the .map file for each track before you go and you won't need an SDCard per track.
I'll have to pull mine and look at it.. What would be really need is if it's edited in a hex editor or advanced text editor.. If the GPS coords are in readable format or if you can identify their byte locations, one could just manually edit where it's marked the S/F line data. (I actually wouldn't mind doing that as it lets you pre-set the S/F w/o having to remember to do it while you're on track). |

The hex editing thing was more of me thinking if that's possible and how difficult it might be. Video game save editing has become way more difficult than it used to be with console/profile locking and varying types of crypto applied to them.. I'm hoping the stuff written from the PDR isn't that complicated since hopefully their focus was on content vs control. |
