Nice!
How did you access to the center pylon in the inside of the trunk to switch wing?
Easy for the left and right,
But for the other one?
Did you have to remove all the protection, the third brake light?
Any picture?
Thanks

Yeah have to remove inside trunk cover. Also the truck latch come off with 2 torx 30 bolts. Still a little challenging but not to bad.

Bigger pain on convertible was jamming and protecting the antenna. Took about 4 hrs, that was with also making a reinforcement plate to help spread the down force load.

It's too large a wing for my taste, but I gotta say, it looks better on the convertible than I thought it would.

What did you do with the antenna? I'm installing mine next week.

There are 2 antennas about 18-24" in spoiler. When you remove access panels to spoiler bolts you will see two signal boosters that the antennas are connected to. Once I unhooked and removed antennas. I slid one from each side and crossed in middle behind trunk latch. I warped both end in 1/4" foam in access panel area and zip tied, then where they crossed in middle did same thing. Made sure would not rattle and were not touching any metal.

Bigger issue is the forth hole. Gonna get quote from body shop to fill and respray, but most likely will make a cover out of carbon fiber.

Talked with That Gm Guy and he said he was unaware of the issue and would add a note to website. (still not sure if this is just on 18' convertible model year or not)

Thanks for the info. Mine is a 17' and there is no additional holes, just the stanchions that bolt to the trunk lid. The footprint on the 1LE wing looks identical to the stock ZL1.

I received mine and it is beautiful.

But OP has a 5th, so that one won't work. Right?

So I guess they raised the price on this as well now?

Update

So since its been a while, has anyone come up with a solution to this without body work to the deck lid? I would also like to add the wing to my 17 convertible, but I have the antenna holes on both sides and am concerned about them not being covered!

Just finished mine. There was a small portion of one hole that showed when mounted. Welded up the hole, painted the trunk lid and bolted her up. Came out absolutely beautiful. Everything else including the top works great. All the other stuff is a bunch of wives' tales. Well worth the time and investment.

I don't know if any less invasive solutions (like wider stanchions) have come into being since this thread was created.

But seeing none via Google search, I am going to have a body shop fill and paint the holes.

Definitely looks different ZL1-14 and not in a bad way I must say! Not a fan though but if you like it then that’s what matters! I don’t think Chevy will ever build a ZL1 1LE vert because of the coupe being a specific track car. Someone probably would get killed in one if it had an accident on the track(no hardtop) and Chevy would be in a lawsuit!
