Poorly Painted Wheels
What paint and painting method did GM use when coloring their wheels? I have the black painted wheels and they look like complete S**t
after only a year of ownership. The paint is fading on all wheels and one wheel you can even see the bare metal. I was wondering how many owners with the black painted wheels have the same issue and were you successful with a warranty claim?

After a year you probably won't get anywhere with warranty. But give it a try. But they're Just gonna repaint them, and it's going to just happen again. That's the whole problem with GM's wheels, They're not powder coated. Find a good powdercoder , pay about 125 a wheel And get it done once, forever.
Or just call Johnny at forged wheel, or Paul at PK and pick out some nice powder coated wheels and do it right. |

They are painted. Wax them, leave it on THICK. This will protect the paint for a long time. Do it every wash with painted rims.

I have over a year on mine and while they do have some scratches they are not fading or peeling, yet. I just recently polished the crap out of them, and look a lot better, but I will powered coat them in the near future.

Mine is the same...my dealer repainted them and was told that they will do it one time.
Why offer painted wheel If the customer will be dissaponted and refuses to replace? Yes , we are talking about a 50k car! |
