Afm disabler

Hello, I would like to disable AFM on my 17 ss. On my previous Camaro, I had a Range AFM module but with some CELs and issues with it. Range company told me with the latest firmware 8.2, there is no problem on 17 ss camaro. Could owners can confirm? I also see another product Diablosport sprint which seems to be kind of same module...

Thanks for your help!

Need a tune or tuner to disable it. SCT/Diablo/HPTuners can do it. Tune = no warranty just fyi.

I hate AFM, an 8 into a 4. I started off by just manual shifting to get rid of it. Then found out u have to always start in "M" to keep it from going back to AFM. Then got a tune, and got it shut off. Now cam is in and complete AFM delete kit With plugs.

Car sounds really good when u step on the gas ⛽️ and keep your foot down. The A8 shifts to quick and does not sound the best when just leisure driving, I will use "M" for cruiseing and "D" when I want to step on it.

Wonder how the A10 sounds and feels with AFM? Does it even have it too?

I use the Sprint module from DiabloSport which plugs into your ODB port. The module works great and car never goes into V4 mode while connected to the ODB port. But, It does set a CEL intermittently on my car during startup, so basically I have to disconnect the module from the ODB port before starting the vehicle and plug it back in once started. Its a hassle, but beats getting an intermittent CEL (U100 communication error).. Even with this hassle I still think its worth it not having AFM active.. I still think GM should have disabled AFM in track mode tho.. doesn't make sense to have it active in that mode.

I want to get rid of the AFM but also address the throttle response and shift points in my A8. I have an SCT tuner that came with my Maggie, but from what I gather, that SCT doesn't support these functions yet (and it is locked out at the moment for anything but tunes)

If I go to the Diablo, does anyone have experience with what can be accomplished? I don't want to mess with the tune for the S/C and would like to focus on throttle response, AFM, and shift points in track mode only if possible. I hate getting into 6th at 30 MPH when jut tooling around.

its annoying and should have a option to disable it, or only used in eco mode.

in my c7 it only comes on in eco mode for the manual cars, but automatics you can disable it

Camaro doesn't have Eco mode. Odd that such a button exists on Corvette, the rest of the GM fleet that has an "Eco" button just manages throttle response and shift points on automatics to drain what little thrill those cars offer down to nothing.

Did you get one yet? I want one for my Camaro. Camaro drives like crap in V4 mode. Let me know if you got one and how it turned out.

Yeah it's possibly the worst thing about the car. It would bother me so much because I like to listen to the car and I'm constantly analyzing the sounds it's making. I would constantly be thinking about AFM instead of just enjoying the drive. Mainly because of the exhaust tone. if it didn't cause that suction noise when the exhaust valves opened/closed I don't think I would notice it as much. With the range installed I couldn't be happier. Once I'm ready to break my warranty I am going to have the DOD delete kit installed for Texas speed. https://www.texas-speed.com/p-717-do...2-engines.aspx
