Rootus any luck? What the hell is taking them so long? I am frustrated for you. Nothing to say but disappointed they can't be consistent.

The last thing I've heard is that GM managed to ship it as far as Portland but neglected to create the order for the trucking company to ship it from the rail yard down to the dealer. No idea exactly how or why this happened. As of today an order has been created to get it on a truck, and it has been marked as high priority. I don't know what any of that translates to in real life, unfortunately. Maybe I will have it by this coming weekend, though I won't hold my breath .

Depending on the distance to your dealership I suspect you'll have it by the end of the week. That sort of oversight should never occur.

25.8 miles from where the car sits to the front door of the dealer. Not all that far. Hopefully it does not take them too long to find enough cars going down that direction.

Screw them.
How can this be possible... Tell them you're gonna start taking depreciation on the vehicle.

My wife did some sleuthing yesterday, inadvertently impersonated the local dealer, and this is what happened to the best of our knowledge:

1. The rail company did not notify the trucking company that the car had been unloaded and released, so the trucking company did not know to pick it up. This is the root cause of most of the two-week delay.

2. Sometime between Friday and Monday, the Right People got involved and GM logistics figured out what was going on, and the trucking company was told the car was ready and should be delivered ASAP.

3. The trucking company scheduled the delivery for Tuesday but the truck broke down and the delivery was scrubbed. My wife talked to them yesterday and they said the truck was fixed and the delivery rescheduled for this morning by 10:00AM. The trucking company seems very familiar with my car now as they've been pinged about it repeatedly from different directions, and they know it is 'hot' so they said they will bump other cars if necessary to guarantee it gets on this truck.

It is currently ~8:30 and the dispatcher for the trucking company said they expect to have the truck loaded and moving by ~9:30. The entire load is for the one dealer so it is a 25 mile point-to-point trip and should only take around half an hour.

And this time we have contact information for the shipping company so I do not have to rely on getting my information from my salesperson who gets it from someone at GM who gets it from ... you know what I mean. If it is not definitely moving by 10:00AM my wife is going to engage Bitch Mode when she calls the shipper .

If you don't already know, my salesperson is Becky and I have nothing but good things to say about her. She works for a dealer, not GM, and this has not been her problem but theirs. She is at the mercy of the DBC for getting information and action and they don't really seem to treat dealers better than customers. Hell, maybe worse. I would not hesitate to order from Becky again but I will probably think twice or three times before ordering a car from the factory again unless there is no other option. I might have had my car sooner if I had just ordered one of her HBM SS 1LE's off the lot and had her ship it to my house. Would have cost me the extra shipping but I think in retrospect I'd pay it for my own happiness.

Thanks! Feels good to finally have all the waiting over. Almost. Still haven't driven it home, but that should happen tomorrow morning.
