Remote start with app (iPhone)

Hey there,
I think it is possible with an app to start the car via smart phone. Is it only in the US possible? I cannot find anything here in the EU.

It's not possible unless Onstar is available in your country, your other option would be to go with a 3rd party remote start system.

Do you have an automatic transmission? Remote start only comes on automatics....

Hi Soleil!,
I own a European 2.0 Turbo Camaro and remote start simply works by using the remote key as for the US versions. OnStar is not offering a specific application feature for its European customers, at least by now.. all you can do is using your remote key or do other very basic stuff (horn, open/close doors, statistics, etc.) registering to OnStar and using MyOpel application.

From the car's user manual:

To start the engine using the remote start feature:
1. Press and release the lock button.
2. Immediately after completing Step 1, press and hold the circle button for at least four seconds or until the turn signal lamps flash. The turn signal lamps flashing confirms the request to remote start the vehicle has been received.

When the engine starts, the parking lamps will turn on and remain on as long as the engine is running. The vehicle's doors will be locked and the climate control system may come on.

Try it.. it works!

See you!!,
Eos
