This is another example of why people hate car dealers! Some dealers are very good, others are horrible. Other dealers would not even THINK of mentioning anything to blame the customer unless and until they find blatant abuse.

I would be just as upset as you are. The service tech who told you that would be written up for poor customer service if I was his manager. I'd let the manager know such a mindset is absolutely uncalled for, unprofessional, and tell him you will give his service department all zeroes on the survey if he doesn't do something for you, like free oil changes for the duration of the 5/60 drivetrain warranty.

Those surveys are VERY important to dealers.

Nope. The driveshaft is so much higher up than anything near the exhaust. And there was absolutely 0 warning. We had just been driving in downtown traffic 5 mins prior, then got on an interstate loop and got up to 70-75. This happened right after the highway section. We had been driving all morning

I'm hoping they took care of everything right. Mine made the loud clunk, and like you I attamepted to move it a few feet forward out of traffic. When it didn't inmediately mice and made a racket, I just pushed it into a parking lot. It rolled about 15ft after the clunk and then I attamepted to move it one time. Quickly realized that wasn't happening. After it was safe in a spot, I walked back and found all that stuff in the pic.

I'm sorry to hear of this, and would be REALLY ticked off as well! ESPECIALLY with the comments made at the Dealership.........

On a bright side, at least Warranty will cover it........

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY......... Mine is tomorrow.....

It shouldn't take much. They just need to put a torque wrench to the bolts. Wouldn't hurt to ask about the TSB either and see if they will swap parts.

I honestly don't think it was entirely a torque issue. Maybe a few were loose and feel out or something but 1 or 2 def ripped out through the circular housing.

Once a few come out it puts a lot more stress on the others which can rip them out.

How can he relax when his car is effed up, they give him a grocery getter and they won't even look at it until Monday. He has a right to be pissed off.
