HRE FF04 making a clicking noise???

Since the installation of my wheels, I've been hearing a clicking noise upon the rotation of the tire. at first I thought it was a stone in the tread, so I dismissed it for a while and now (about after a 100 miles) it appears that its coming from the center hub/cap.. so before I take the time to remove the wheel and be all anal about it, has any of this happened to you before?
I did install the hub-centric (red ring) that was shipped with it if any of you were possibly questioning that.

There is a TSB out for this even on the OEM wheels. Pull the wheels, clean the hub surface on the wheel and on the rotor. One member put some anti-seize on the hub flange and then as said put the wheels back on and torque to spec.

It is caused by galvanic corrosion between the iron hub and the aluminium wheel.

Thanks for the replies, and this is all interesting stuff..

I was told however by HRE that I should tq them to mfgr spec which is if I am not mistaking, 114 ft. lbs.

If so, I can re-tq them to 140 as you stated and I should also put anti-seize (which makes sense).
At first I thought it was the cap making the noise. I haven't driven it since then.

The track supplement says 140, some have went around 120-125. The TSB for the wheel clicking states to torque to 140 along with the anti-seize paste to eliminate the clicking.

The owners manual is also 140, not just for track. FOR ALL CAMAROS.

Should you still have any issues, let me know but I would be recommending the same thing everyone else has. Check the torque value on those lugs and verify they're at OE 140lbs.

Only other thing I can think of is maybe the centercap is loose maybe? Not sure, but if that's the case and you have a bad cap, let me know and I'll send out a new one.

I can verify by my own experience that torquing to 140 will get rid of the clicking.

140 torque spec is for OEM wheels... not aftermarket. Is this incorrect?

I can't speak on behalf of ALL aftermarket wheels, but I can tell you with our FlowForm Wheels, use OE torque specs. Only reason I can think of where you wouldn't torque to OEM spec again is because the lug nuts that you're using aren't rated to handle that sort of pressure, or the wheel can't handle the torque.

With that said, oneredry what's the update? Torquing them down fix the clicking?

Yes, I took the wheels off and put anti-seize and re-tqed to 140. I've only driven it about 15 miles, but tried to listen and seems to not be there, so I don't want to say this early but looks like that has taken care of it.
