Well sorry guys, guess it's stock no more even though same sizes. Lol I'd agree with different sizing, went with an all season which should of been a negative. I've pulled 1.7's on the goodyears also. I was thinkin I was going to pull 2.1 or something dumb with all seasons. Rules are rules I guess.

Didn't leave out the information. Didn't think it mattered. Quite a dumb rule imo.

You're not alone. Most of us agree with you. All season tires are not considered "bolt-ons". That's just ridiculous.

It's all good. Lol for the time to enter it and upload a pic not even bothering to upload to the bolt on section until I have the headers, intake and tune done.

I agree with the above posts.

With this many people complaining and not agreeing with this tire rule, I think it may be time to re-evaluate that particular aspect of the rule book on here. It would be a simple change, IMO it would make complete sense.

I don't get the resistance to change either. Just because a rule as been around since the early 5th gens, doesn't mean it's right either.

If you change to a different set of the same sized street tires, that should not be a bolt on.

Add me to this list

I don't see how swapping to a different pair of street tires of the same size is a bolt on??????

Thats a rule that needs to be changed for sure!

Maybe I'm disqualified for having my factory black rims vs my silver ones that came on car from dealer.

Actually, you did leave out the information on the tires. The details of the pass are supposed to be included, and one of the pieces of information required is tires used on the pass. It's on page 1 of the list. The part talking about the details can be seen below (copied from page 1).

Rules:
In posting submissions for inclusion on the list, please follow these simple rules.

#1. Post the details of your quarter-mile pass using this template: (cut and paste)
Tires used on the pass:

Guys rules are rules. It is called a bone stock list for a reason - factory showroom stock. Allowing a tire change would open the door for people taking advantage of the rule. I could swap to a 275 PS4 or Super Sports and run faster times, but that would make me faster than showroom stock, and would give me an unfair advantage over the guy who is running the Goodyears.

If you are not stock, you do not belong on the stock list. Even if the tires are worse. It has to be black and white. You have gray areas, people will exploit them.

Doesn't matter, never read the rules and didn't notice till someone mentioned. Not a big deal.

I have restored your pass from June 2016 post #193 to the BONE STOCK A8 list. Perhaps in the future you could do us all the curtosy and review the rules and post correctly.

There will be no further comments from Merc or updates till after Labour Day. I'm on holidays and I'm going fishing, cruising and Pro Mod racing. Everyone be safe and enjoy the remainder of summer and get ready for that good fall DA.

I don't understand what people have against launch control...

Tires used on the pass:Stock run flats
Performance Mods (if any): None
Category submitted for: #2 (2016 A8)
R/T.......... .582
60'............. 1.851
330'........... 5.197
660'........... 7.912
660’ mph... 89.98
1000'.......... 10.226
1320'.......... 12.191
1320’ mph…. 115.50
Name of the track: Capitol Raceway. Crofton, MD
Date of pass: 8/25/2017
Weather conditions: DA: 450, 65F, 94%, 30.22in

42psi front/ 26psi rear
Track mode, Competitive Driving Mode w/Touring suspension locked on
Avoided water box, 2-3sec burnout, avoided typical tire 'path' used by most drivers (first time trying this hoping to get more grip), staged early, activated launch control, left on 3rd light.

As I've said before, using launch control with my car gets me my fastest times. Maybe it's my inexperience, or maybe I'm just not that good...but it definitely seems to help me. When it gets cooler I plan to take off all the nannies and see what I can do. Until then, I got my fastest time last night
