HELP!! HVAC fuse blows on left hand turns

So I went to the track this weekend (a road coarse) and halfway through the weekend my HVAC controls just stopped working. I tried a global reset. Didn't work.... Finally discovered my HVAC fuse in the trunk (f14) was blown. I replaced it and went back out on the track and within the first lap the fuse blew again.

Head scratcher for sure.

I am running BMR springs on a MRC M6 car with 285-30-20 fronts and 305-30-20 rears. I did not relocate that harness because I thought that was only required if you ran a 35 series tire.

I brought my car to a buddies dealership today and assumed that it must be a bad module or something. After the tech spent some time on the car he has concluded that he can get the car to blow the fuse every time he makes a hard left turn.

Other than suspension mods I have all bolt ons and a plug and play e85 sensor.

The tech is super cool but the more he looks at it the larger my sinking feeling is that this issue is a me created problem vs a factory problem.

Anyone else have this issue? Any ideas on what I could have the tech check. at this point the sooner he figures it out the better as I think I am footing the bill at this point

thanks

on some 2016 SS's there are some wiring harnesses in the engine bay near the compressor that is extremely close to the belt and has caused various problems mostly engine surging, but the wiring for the ac compressor is in that area too, wouldn't hurt to check that area out...At least it's a place to start.

looking for a post where there are photos, once I find it I'll link it.

Found it. http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showth...engine+surging

Hope it helps.

How is F2 in the rear fuse block? That one is called "front HVAC" in the manual but appears bigger than F14. So I'm wondering if that means it's for the cabin blower. I can't find any fuse labeled cabin blower.
I would also check relay K8 (a/c control) in the engine compartment. If the relay broke there may be metal parts which are shorting when you go around hard turns. If it is shorting the low power contacts it might blow the HVAC control module fuse.

This thread is somewhere in the warranty section. The wires that get affected are for the crank or cam position sensor.

Obviously you have a chaffed wire that makes contact with ground in turns... Get a wiring diagram and follow the harness looking for wires that are close to any structure. Black spots are a telltale sign of arcing.

Maybe. But I would suspect HVAC low voltage control wiring would be routed closer to the engine compartment sidewalls. No reason to route it near moving parts or heat.

I would check in the left rear fender well and make sure that the harness in there is not getting rubbed on. Hard left turns would make the top of the left rear tire move inboard and rub the inner fender liner.

My guess is that, and every time you make a hard left turn after you put a new fuse in the fuse block it shorts out the wires again and pops the fuse.
