Question Hey All...Another new owner thread with a couple Q's

Hey hey quick question(s):

I'm looking to get rid of the stock run flats and I'm leaning towards the continental dws06s. Anyone out there with an opinion based on experience?

Also, brake pads. Too much dust, need some that are less "messy" but still good for spirited daily driving. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

ToThose are good tires. Also consider the BFG Comp2 a/s and the relatively new General GMax As05.

Those are all season tires. Is that what you want to replace them with?

Power Stop Z26 pads will greatly reduce brake dust. Go on their web site for #. I put them on at 1200 miles. Have not had to wash wheels between car washes since.

Great tires, I have them on my '16 C7. Probably 85% of the stick of the MPSS, but with a MUCH better ride, and you can drive them in the winter, even on a little snow.

Seems like people that stick with stock sizes go with DWS06's, and people that go up to the aftermarket 20x10/20x11 go with BF Goodrich Comp 2 A/S. In 275/285f and 305r .

This. Must do mod. Never thought Id put new brakes on a new car but here I am. Easy change too - no need to remove the calipers like most other cars.....

Thanks all for the responses. Pads ordered and probably going to go with the Contis. We shall see...

I did the same, these pads work fine for me, and a LOT less dust.

I got my 2017 in November...immediately had to put on the BFG Comp 2 all seasons. Compared to the run flats, they rode better and the traction on wet or dry roads was very good.

I went with the stock sizes too.

How did you swap the pads without taking the calipers off??

Disregard that last post... I didn't realize you could do it still attached to the car... I swapped my calipers and since it was already off, I just assembled the whole caliper and pads before putting it back on.... Popping the pins and leaving the caliper in place seems much easier though. At least next time I can save some time. Lol

Dont feel bad - I unbolted the caliper on one side before I stepped back and figured it out. Then I realized that Chevy also says to replace the caliper bolts whenever you removed them

I have decided to keep the run flats since I have a habit of running over nails in this town. I just had the fourth tire replaced yesterday, and the run flats give me the confidence of just driving the car to the dealership instead of having to find a place to pull over and change the tire safely.

For the brake dust, I got the Modesta wheel coating on my wheels and calipers, now the dust is way easier to manage.
