Adding Navigation
Looks like the car I bought doesnt have navigation or PDR. PDR doesnt really interst me that much, but navigation is required.
Will this add the navigation? https://www.infotainment.com/collect...-radio-upgrade

GM nav is so inferior to a Garmin that it is not worth considering. The integration to your phone app is nice, but the guidance is always outdated. Find myself using the phone app as the GM nav fails to provide dependable guidance.

If you have an Android phone you should use Waze, it's now supported through Android Auto. If you have an iPhone, use CarPlay, apple maps is better than the GM nav.

No nav is definitely not a deal breaker in these cars. They offer Apple Carplay and Android Auto standard. Unless you want the directions to display on the HUD, you will be losing absolutely nothing by not having factory navigation. My car has it but if I ordered it myself, i probably wouldn't have optioned it.

There is no better navigation than Waze.

Good on you for being one of the few folks who didn't waste their money on the useless factory nav unit.
Go buy a pro-clip phone mount (doesn't require screws) and use "Waze" on your smart phone (free crowd-sourced info and map updates)...the in-dash units totally suck, require map updates (across the industry) AND they cost more to integrate into the existing electronics. |

You can use Waze on the iPhone Carplay or Google Maps. Google maps is one of the best Nav systems I have used.

Good news, you saved $495 on not getting navigation. Good news, you can put that money towards the new iPhone or Samsung and have Nav on a device that you can also make calls and text on.

It's an option on the car's Android auto nav screen. Just select it.
It works the same as music, and gives you a submenu of options (Waze and Google Maps). |
