You putting Chevy on the same plane with Porsche with regards to options availability is not grounded in reality, sorry.

Ok, if you're willing to spend $5k on "proper lightweight seats", then go do that. Why limit yourself to what the factory would get wrong anyway? Seats are supposed to be personal and fit you, so go buy one that fits you.

Porsche won't sell you a 6-point harness either as a factory part.

With all this, I'm betting you haven't even sat in the ZL1 Recaro's.

I hope you're joking, the C7 "Competition" seats are anything but. They have pathetic thigh and hip support, are pear shaped for obese people, and obviously have no provisions for sub belts. The ZL1 Recaros are vastly superior at actually holding a reasonably athletic person with some g-loading even with 3-points.

Everyone has a opinion now a days, guess what no one cares. If you don't like it don't buy the car. Or buy the car and get new seats simple.

I test drove a ZL1 a month ago with the recaro's yes, they are comfy...couch like. Nothing compared to the GT350 seats which really hold you!

Hello, yes it's 911 Riviera matte blue. Track driven with very light street use. Pretty much drive to and from the track when I don't feel like trailering.

I'd be a buyer for ZL1 competition seats. The stock Recaros are great and do a reasonably good job at holding you in place, but I'd like to have pass-throughs for a harness.

I'd also like to see a factory option for carbon ceramic brakes. I know that Racing Brake offers a kit, but the rears require a caliper swap. It seems like a simple rotor and pad kit would be easy for GM to offer even with limited sales expectations. I'd just don't want to go through the trouble of getting calipers painted or having mismatched calipers, etc..

GM stops a little short when it comes to Camaro accessories. Just as another example, I'd love to have the ZL1 1LE wheels and tires. However, the speedometer and PTM coefficients would be off. Of course the speedometer can be corrected if you're willing to tune and forfeit the warranty, but it'd be trivial for GM to offer a tune to correct the speedometer (and any traction specific coefficients). I've considered selling my car and getting the ZL1 1LE, but that doesn't solve the seat or brake issue. Competition seats and carbon ceramic brakes are offered on the Z06, but the Z06 has its own problems.

(Don't get me wrong, modern Corvettes and Camaros are absolutely great cars for the money.)
