First time to the track and No Lift Shift
Went to the track last night at Indianapolis Raceway Park and the best I could do is 13.0 @ 111.7mph. There were several other 6th gen SS's there that were running 12.8 - 13.3 at around 110-111mph (3 autos and 2 other manuals). I was hoping for better! I have some questions:
On the best run I tried No Lift Shift on the 2-3 and 3-4 shift just to test it out and it seemed to work well although it's hard to tell if it's doing anything since the shift happens very fast and the helmet muffles the sound somewhat. On the next two runs, I attempted to use No Lift Shift (I was convinced it worked from the prior run), but got grinding or rejected from the gear altogether. Accelerator pedal to the floor, stabbed clutch, and shifted simultaneously. Any thoughts on what I did wrong? When shifting to 1-2 without using NLS, I havent had any issues. Maybe my clutch/shifting timing just wasn't quite right? Also, the dragstrip burnout puddle was huge and it was hard to drive around it without getting the tires wet. On stock tires I typically don't like to do a burnout. I wish they would have one of the lanes set up for no burnouts, so I don't have to try to launch with one or both tires wet. I'd appreciate any input!

Your 1-2 power shift has to be aggressive . Start to pull on the shifter lightly before you stab the clutch, the pull has to be strong though when you make the shift to make sure you get into the 2nd gear gate all the way before you let the clutch back out. What were your 60 ft times? and you should always do a burnout. Go around the water, back into the water, pull up a little out of the water, do a burnout with the car stationary till you see some smoke, let the car roll forward and stage. Oh yeah, don't forget, the rear tires should be only 25psi fully warmed or how ever you decide to make your pass. Set the rear tires at 24 psi before the burnout, the heat will raise them to 25

Test NLS on the street shifting a little slower to get used to it. It will be very obvious if its working b/c of the sound. On your runs where you had grinding/rejected you probably let the clutch out too quick/early, again I'd say practice some more on the street with NLS.
As for burnouts on stock tires, I like to spin the tires very briefly to clean them off as driving through the water slightly is sometimes unavoidable.

Video of launch control and quick NLS here: https://www.instagram.com/p/BWptxfNh...aken-by=ss_1le, you can see that the throttle stays at 100% the whole time. I'd also run ~25psi or lower next time.

I have some video that shows using NLS with some slower shifts, I'll see if I can put something together and post a link for you.

I thought NLS was to keep the rpms up in the power band, not to prevent over revving???When I NLS my rpms stay near 6k....

It does both. If you use NLS but don’t let the clutch out, the RPMs will stay just above where they need to be for the next gear. Again minimizing drivetrain shock and shift time.
