No thank you, I'll keep my GT premium PP with NAV that I got for under 37k.

I think what you'll be seeing is ford dealerships carrying a lot of base GTs as they have in the past and relying on those high price optioned vehicles to be special orders.

Yep $50,975 MSRP for one built comparable to my 2SS. Granted there are some things not applicable that each car has, but that's $2k more than my 2SS MSRP. Definitely going to pay for performance this time.

Isn't 460 the advertised HP with the NPP system on the LT1 Vettes? As far as I'm concerned NPP Camaros also make 460 and the 420TQ is still about 40 short of the mark. Yep they'll need that 10 speed transmission to get the acceleration numbers they are claiming. I'm more interested in seeing what handling improvements have been made. Right now the handling gap between the GT PP and Camaro SS non 1LE is pretty significant.

10 Speed auto is a $1595 option.

Performance pack is a $3995 option with magneride being $1695 on top of that.

$40785 for a performance pack GT with magneride doesn’t sound like too bad of a deal.
I agree...not a bad deal for the performance...

Exactly.

The question in my mind now is, how does the Perf Pack Mustang compare to an MRC equipped Camaro in terms of drive feel and handling? In past comparisons, the Camaro was always the preferred car. But now, has the Perf Pack Mustang stepped up its game?

That sir is the million dollar question. I see at least 2 more head to heads coming to a theater near you. I wonder how much stock motor-trend has in Ford and GM!

Well, as expected, they aren't liking the new price hikes at all over in the Mustang forums. Camaro not looking so terrible now eh? lol.

It's funny how a year ago that we were roasted about how much the camaro cost and EVERY mustang fan boy was saying how they would just save the 5 grand and put it in mods for the mustang. Now all of the sudden it's a great deal for the performance you get just like we said last year. My only thing is that it is still the ugliest mustang other than the 1978 cobra 2 mustang. It still has the trophy but the 18 is close

Yeah, many are going ape shit lol. A lot of us knew it was coming. Direct injection and suspension upgrades aren't free.

I think the 15-17 are the best looking since the 69. It's funny how personal preferences play.

The general thought is that while the 18 is better in every way on paper, it got a lot worse looking. If the 2019 Camaro makes some nice tweaks there may be some converts.

I saw a 1ss 1le on the road yesterday and holy balls. What a killer looking ride. Fixes a lot of my fripes about a regular SS. Looked positively mean.

I don't know what their problem is. This fits the historical narrative, Mustang has made very small MSRP increases even when performance is notably increased during an MCE.

1998 GT starts at $20,150
1999 GT starts at $20,945

2010 GT starts at $27,995
2011 GT starts at $30,495

2017 GT starts at $33,195

If we follow the increase % of '10 to '11 which involved a new engine, transmission, and sheet metal we get the following, as an estimate for the next MCE.*

2018 GT could have started at ~$36,159

So, honestly, $35,095 isn't a bad starting point.

I agree. The 15-17 took a while to grow on me but with good rims and that grill mesh deleted, they are tough as nails. They also handle forced induction better as well.

Agree. There are many naive folks out there that don't understand costs associated with program upgrades.

That's what I love about the S550. If I ever get complacent with my current power levels, I can throw on blower (and oil pump gear) and have 700rwhp on tap.
