And just an FYI, that's a solid 0.5+ seconds off the current GT's 0-60 times.

I'm impressed with the updates.. I'm sure the new tires help as well. Hopefully it drives better than 15-17.

Curious to see how the 10-speed drives in comparison to the GM unit. Will be test driving!

Finally Ford gives the V8 direct injection. Nice upgrades all around. I wonder what the MSRP will be now.

I think that is interesting and it needs at least that much to keep up. But I still think the SS will beat it in the quarter mile. I mean, is Ford REALLY gonna make it so the $30K Mustang GT is just as fast or faster than the $85K (with markups) Shelby GT350R? LOL!! I would laugh if that actually happened. But no, I don't think that will be the case. Chevy has already proven what it can do. Now it is on Ford and I doubt they will be as fast.

It's all in the 60'. It looks like the 18 A10 will go head to head with the Camaro SS A8. 0.5+ seconds off of the 0-60 alone. You know it wont be slower on the top end, so I could possibly see a 0.6-0.7 second quicker time here than the current gen mustang. |

What about the M6? If the A10 can run 12 flat to low 12s.. M6 low 12's to mid 12's in good air then it's a big achievement and will be on par with the SS. The tires are very critical so the performance pack is definitely needed to be competitive. |

Now that the official numbers are out, I suspect the 10A GT to put up a pretty decent fight against a 8A SS.
Manual cars I am not sure on, I would probably still give edge to the SS but at least in a straight line the Mustang now appears to show some fight |

If they used similar gearing as the ZL1 10R90, then the Auto GT is running something like a 4.70:1 first gear.. That means they can hole shot the crap out of the car and not put an insane gear in the rear. That's probably a lot of the 0-60 is 1st gear getting it moving fast and w/o all the low end TQ like the LT4 has, it's not as slip happy with too much power too fast. It's a fairly old trick and I knew a lot of Fox Body people slapping in 4.10s in their diffs (vs trans swap) knowing they'd lose highway vs red-lighting people around town.

Yep.. your 1st gear went short as crap, but you took off fast.. That highway mileage and engine noise though.. Ooof.. I'm sure it was better with 5 and 6 speed autos, but ughh.. riding around back in the day in an auto fox in the rear... deafening with the Mustang standard Flowmasters.
